Started out with Marlboro lights, then one year our newly elected governor decided to raise our state cigarette taxes, I then switched to cheapo Liggett brand, then after the federal tax hike on tobacco, I began rolling my own. After vaping for over a month now, I cant believe I ever started smoking those nasty analogs:)

I smoke analogs for so long I forget all the different brands I went through. I even rolled my own with a cig machine for awhile when money was tight. The last brand was John Players Standard Kings. Had a pack and a half when I got my vaporizer and gave them away. Been smoke free since January 29 at 4pm.

I'll go ahead and give a second Canuck brand :)

I used to smoke Export "A" Medium King Size

Then switched to Accord cuz they we're 2$ cheaper.

I have to admit, i've been smoke free for 27 days and i kinda miss the taste of an Export after eating but hey, maybe i just havent found my after meal vape yet ;)

Got started sneaking my mother's Winstons.

In order..

Marlboro Reds
Lucky Strikes (I know.. Dated myself.)
Kools
Camels Unfiltered (I don't see these anymore for some reason)
Marlboro Lights
Marlboro Ultralights 100s (last 10 years or so)

40 years pack a day. I am still chasing the x-factor. Still have one every day or so. Trying snus and it seems to do the trick. Can make it three or four days when I have a snus.

I started with Capri 120s because they were skinny and cute and very girly. Then I smoked Basic's for a while because they were cheaper. For the past several years, I have smoked Misty Light 120's or the cheap Indian smokes that were like them. I figured with the 120s I get more smoke for the same money.

I still smoke a bit, but cut down a lot when I got a J118 and now I use a Blu.

My analog brand history over 20 years was: (not counting the True's and Benson & Hedges stolen from mine and my friend's parents by the pack)

Marlboro Reds -> Marlboro Lights -> Camel Lights -> (*got the flu, so...) -> Marlboro Menthol Lights -> (**briefly quit until Camel came out with...) -> Camel Menthol Lights -> (***was working on quitting on and off until Camel came out with...) -> Camel Crush

*-pathetic

**-How pathetic was that? I had actually successfully quit for ~6 months. But after getting hooked on menthols while I had the flu, I had always said how I wished that Camel made menthols and how I would much prefer Camels if they only made menthols. Well it was like they were spying on me, and started working on it as soon as I quit. The first time I saw Camel Menthol Lights in the store, I instantly regressed and had to buy a pack to try.

***-My pathetic-ness and RJR's clever and timely marketing continues. Instantly fell in love with the Camel Crush - my old trusty Camel Menthol Lights now paled in comparison. It was during a conversation with a friend that I said that it would have been easier for me to quit if they hadn't started making Camel Crush - and part of me wished they would fail as a new product and be discontinued, since I didn't enjoy anything else anymore. It was thinking about this, and then remembering how they had snagged me before with a new product, combined with the rapidly rising cost of cigs, that all led to increasing indignation in me that gradually prompted me to (with some help from snus) quit cold turkey in disgust. A little less than a week into it (and still craving the hand-to-mouth puff/exhale ritual), I heard a radio ad for "Smoke-Assassin" that prompted me to research ecigs. I found this place, then placed an order for a 510 kit from Nhaler on a Friday. Got it on Monday after 1-week+ cold-turkey, and have been happily vaping and smoke-free for 2 months+ with no cravings. Screw analog cigarettes, I don't care what new kind they come out with now - they can all burn in hell!

It was getting tricky - I smoked tobacco imported from Holland, Drum back in the day, then Jester or Samson. On April 1st 2008 the taxes were increased and the price for a 60 gram pouch went from 5$ to 12$! The largest tax increase in US history: 2200% . . . on a product I was addicted to . . . I was certainly looking for alternatives! Most of the stores that carried my brands stopped carrying them claiming that no one would pay that much, but of course I did until this January when you fabulous people taught me that there was hope! I am surprised - but couldn't be happier!

I started out with Marlboro reds back in the late 60's, then switched to Kent III's and Carlton's back in the 80's, and quit for about a year in 1996. Then I went to a party, had a Marlboro Medium and proceeded to buy about 4,800 packs of them before I started vaping this past November.

My father-in-law got me started on camel non-filters when I was 16. For a few years I smoked Alpine lights (menthol) then about 7 years ago I switched to Blackstone Cherry Cigars. I loved smoking the cigars for about 5 years, but when the taxes jumped and a box went from $1.75 to $4.25 I switched to Pall Malls. over the last two years I had slowly worked down from full flavors down to ultra lights. But I was still smoking 2-3 packs a day.
