What I've noticed with my gear is that it lasts at least twice as long if I used unflavored e-liquid. My favorite RY4 will make a coil look nasty in a few hours and gunk it up completely in a day or 2.

From this I surmise that it is something in the flavoring, not nicotine, that ends up as gunk on the coil. The darker the juice, the worse it seems to be.

Cleaning atties is no problem . .I give em a quick rinse in the trash can and get another one.

While that is informative as to what cig vs vapor gives out it does not address the concern of what nicotine might be in the vapor. If that is harmfull or probably not fails to address the issues of those in the general proximity or in closed coradoars of "vapers". Although considerably much healthier my wife still addresses concerns of inhaling nicotine vapor. I can convenience her all I want that it is safe as inhaling caffeine but she would still prefer I vape outsie.

Is there any health or legitimate study that suggests one way or the other? Or should I just mind my P & Q's and vape outside like I used to smoke outside?

In my experience, using sound, scientific reasoning to present an argument to your wife is a great way to end up sleeping on the sofa. I just vape outside.

I don't know if I would compare inhaling nicotine to caffeine. Caffeine is a way nastier chemical than nicotine. I guess it would be good to someone not familiar with its chromosomal damaging features. Most are unaware of the severity of what caffeine can do..even if you are aware of the harmful cellular side-effects, like me, you probably still consume it... I have at least 500mg of caffeine a day, and on some days I get into gram measurements of it..lol.

Ha ha so true :)...I have come accustomed to vaping in the office the past few weeks. And I do vape in the house just not necessarily in front of her. I'll see what I can put together from all of these links as an argument. Thanks all. She agrees that it is much safer but she doesn't necessarily like the idea of being exposed to nicotine which thus far is her only real excuse for me not vaping around her. I was hoping that oxygen, nitrogen, carbon-dioxide or something else in the air rapidly broke down the nicotine so that unless I was blowing it directly in her direction there would be no objection. Although I admit if I'm in chair and she is on couch there really shouldn't be too much concern to begin with. Sometimes you got to pick your battles but I'd like to convince her on this one.

Caffeine is weird for me. I can go weeks or months and not consume any...then on other days I can have half a pot of coffee or several glasses of tea. I guess it's something that has gripped my life as cigs and nicotine did.

Read the ClearStream Air Study - link to it here: Utah Vapers - Clearstream Air Results. In a controlled, measured test in an enclosed room, the amount of exhaled nicotine found in the air was zero.

That one looks promising to address her concerns as well as some of the other links but find that very quick and short summary in an enclosed room.

I need caffeine every day just like nicotine. I had to cut down from a full pot a day to half. A full pot makes me feel kind of off.

Caffeine is not carcinogenic:

Caffeine is not mutagenic:

There's limited evidence that high dose caffeine may be harmful during pregnancy, although not by means of chromosome damage. Pregnant women are advised to limit themselves to moderate doses (200mg/day is generally considered safe).

No Everclear in CA. I can buy food grade ethanol but its expensive.

Ever-clear and vodka is grain alcohol and water. Be careful with some of the cheap vodka tho. Look for made from grain alcohol or something like that. Some of the really cheap vodka isn't made by fermentation. Its made synthetically.

I always buy the cheap stuff...and my rum is clear not a spiced rum. I never knew they put synthetic alcohol in the cheap stuff. Something else I'll have to research when I get some time :)

I should correct this because I think I'm wrong. I don't think this is actually true. I think its just different plant or sugar stock in the really cheap stuff.

Yeah, I suspect that synthetic alcohol would not be used for the cheap stuff...

Looking at the wiki entry, i suspect it's rather expensive :D
