I just received a 5v box mod from madvapes and have to say this thing rocks! Will def buy more from them. Good vapor and solid unit for $30. I am however new to 5v vaping and having trouble finding what atty or cartomizer to use with it.

I ordered a HV 4ohm 510 atty with it but it will only hit for about a second and then the unit goes dead. I either have to switch to a cartomizer or turn the power switch off and back on. I read in another thread that it sounds like the atty is tripping the battery protection. This makes sense but if this isn't the atty I use then what is?? When I use my 2.6ohm kr808 carto with it the unit fires fine and I get plenty of vapor but after a couple hits I start tasting atty and polly fill. If I place the same cart on a kr808 batt it then hits fine again.

So long story short is what do I need atty and cartomizer wise to get this sucker vaping the way it can? Anyone?

If you have a multimeter, you should check the ohms on that atty. Maybe it's an LR instead of an HR... For that matter, if you have another PV to test the atty on, that might tell you if that's it. If it vapes well at 3.7v, then it's probably an LR.

I tested the atty on a 3.7 device and it def is not made for them. The atty is at 4ohms. So are you saying it should vape at 4ohms? Anyone else have any ideas as to what atty or cartos to use? I find it hard to believe that no one has any suggestions...

I use the el cheapo Mad Vapes 510 dual coil cartos in my VV, 5v, and 3.7v mods. They do well in all of these devices but especially well at 5v. I bought a few to try and ended up buying a bunch more after seeing how well they performed. Aside from my 306 atties for dripping, I use these cartos exclusively. 40-45 drop capacity and they last.

I use 2.5 ohm atties and either 1.6ohm dual coil carts or 3.2 ohm(smoktech or boge carts).

Thanks for the tips! Thats what I will do then... order some DC cartos at 3.2ohm and a 2.5ohm atty. Wish I would read up a little before buying it. I also find that some of my fluids burn or have no flavor at 5v. Any one else notice this?
