Leakage being an issue, I would go with Joye Ego CCs plus Joye Type A atomizers. They're designed with air holes at the top to eliminate the leak issues of other clearos which have air holes at the bottom and there are no gurgling issues because there are no air tubes. A totally different bcc design I say "Joye" with Type A atties because there's confusion out there with vendors calling other clearo types Ego CCs. I use them and have had no bad-taste issues I've experienced with other clearos.

What about the CE <whatever's>. I remember when they cost came out I didn't like them. But are they any good now?

Or anything like them? Maybe it doesn't need replaceable heads as long as they are reasonably priced to replace. Clear. Nothing to burn. And hold a decent amount of juice. 2-3mls.

I'll start reading about those. These are really just for an emergency or if I get hit by a bus. She loves the gennys I build for her. But she needs to be able to take care of herself with something of the shelf

This should be worth a look. Check the angle of the tank when used on a pipe.

Good luck and I hope you can get your wife set up and happily vaping!

Thanks sail. That's probably the vid that Peter suggest I watch. Work do when I get home

Anybody know if there is something like the spheroid (sp?} That you can buy off the shelf? Where the foam that hosts the juice doesn't touch the heat. A wick, probably silica, pulls the juice from the foam to the coil?

With replaceable heads OR disposable?

Another vote for the iClear 30 and iClear 16 as well. I actually just my iClears in the mail this morning and I LOVE the vape on these things. I'm done looking for the perfect clearo and I'm just hunting for the perfect juice now! LOL

I prefer a warmer vape so while I like how the Smoktech ARO feels - its a bottom coil and the vape is noticeably cooler. But as a clearo is gorgeous and feels tough and substantial in my hand.

Still like the taste and vape of the iClears better.

EDITED to add: Whoops, I didn't see the upside down requirement - and while I can say I used the iClear30 laying down, I didn't use it upside down. So I can't really say it will work for you. The Smoktech ARO seems like it will work upside down as a BCC if kept totally full all the time. I'm not sure about that though as I haven't tried it myself.

if you look at the reviews of the aspire dbc that IS what it is essentially- the juice flows through the two holes into carto-type sleeve where it contacts the wicks and is drawn to the coil. it is the reason it works so well. it is a mini spheroid in a disposable coil head. vape quality is outstanding and blows away the iclears imho.

Ah!Peter to the rescue again. with the wick through the sleeve that should hold "most"juice in. Now I'm just confused about w which one. The Davide?

Is the DAVIDE-S the largest capacity? And just as easy to fill as a protank?

haven't heard of the protank with the dbc coil , just the davide-s or the vivi nova. i think the vivi may actually hold more juice. it is a snap to clean and you can add your own swivel drip tip to make life easier for your wife. of course, the davide-s also has a removable drip tip so either one will work(just don't know exact capacities). get one of each and see which one you prefer. they both vape great.....

I myself did not have a good experience at all with the Aspire heads - I find myself wondering just how well the top wick wicks since the holes are positioned for the bottom one. I'd enjoy testing a single-coil version of this product.

As a reviewer, I've tried many things on the market and so far, I have quite the stockpile going on (pretty soon, the television show Hoarders is going to come knocking on my door with what my kitchen looks like with vaping supplies) I'm having as much trouble keeping to vaping as I am finding a good product to recommend.

Laying in bed is not inverted in most cases. She would not be vaping upside down right? None of the iClear tanks I have used have leaking issues if they are laid on their sides or used horizontally. One sitting in bed will be vaping at more than a horizontal angle. For truly inverted vaping a cart with filler would be the only option.

I think the best kind of clearomizer is very dependent on what kind of juice you vape.

Without knowing that, I don't know how the question can be answered?

I vape 100% VG, and all I have to do is LOOK at an iclear with all those wicks and I know beforehand its gonna be 'clog city'

For higher VG I would say bottom coils work best, becasue they are also very short, and the juice sits on top of them and therefore there is no necessestiy for wicks to try to absorb all that from the top ....it's defying gravity and with higher VG, gravity is a PITA. !

With doing research, I'll actually probably try the Aurora Bottom-Feeder next - it's a device that's about the same size as a Protank II, yet allows you to squeeze juice up into a head or cartomizer until your heart is content. I'd have to see the mechanics of just how that juice then penetrates into the head or atomizer to get to the wick, but if the juice more or less is just squirted directly onto the coil and wick (no holes, polyfill, or mess to worry about) then this would seem like the best device for most juices.

The problem with wicking is that juice has to absorb to the center of the wick to get a good vape - the two ends of a wick can be soaked but that doesn't mean the juice has enough gravitational pull, suction, or viscosity to actually cause movement onto the center portion of the wick. If you've ever dripped juice on to a Protank head, and experimented by dripping it on the wick ends to see how long it takes to absorb into the center, you'll know that most juice is perfectly content not traveling through the wick and usually will not have any of its own incentive to do so. At the very least, most tank models require tight air control and primer puffs to truly work the best they can (and prevent instant burning for many folks) and most folks just don't have time for that, nor are most of these models already built to incorporate that type of user input (requiring adaptors, low puff count, time, and a lot of sucking.)

Also, if you get a new batch of coils, it's probably best to use alcohol or something and take two one them, rinse one, don't rinse one. If one gives you a funky taste and one doesn't, go which whatever cleaning method worked for you.
