I was going to buy the new Lavatube v2 from i think Volcano? Anyways they ended up pulling them because they were calibrated to Vavg, not Vrms so they were running higher than they should've. They sent them back to the manufacturer, and had no time frame when they were going to be re released.

Major delay, due to we are having to completely reprogram the chipset.

As it has been shown that many of the PWM VV mods do not output voltages correctly due to them being tuned to Vavg and not Vrms. So the lower range is actually outputing higher voltages than it should be. We checked ours and it needs to be retuned.

The Lavatube 2.0 will not be at Vapercon and has been delayed

A date for the release will not be given until we are 100% satisfied . We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused

We are doing our best to make sure things are perfect before we release these. We do not want to release a sub par device or one with issues.

This was the mod I planned on buying, but I couldn't wait and bought a Provari. When they do come out I still might buy one tho :p

Oh here's the link: http://forum.volcanoecigs.com/new-lavatube-coming-soon-t9725-320.html

You do realize you are asking what comes close to the device that sets the standard world wide for quality and reliability and has some of the best customer service? Why settle for close? Your not going to get near it with mid priced Chinese clones Get what they are trying to imitate but poorly?

My guess is the price point of the Provari. The price tag can be a little daunting. Sure I think its worth the extra money, but some can't afford it without saving up, and they want something better now.

I think it really all depends on how much experience you have with vaping, and knowing your own sweet spot range. I have a provari and I love it, but if it were to break tomorrow, I think I could get by with an ego vv and a stardust lr tank. The beauty of the provari is that it gives you the full spectrum for your day to day. Some days I'm a 3.9, and others I need that 5.5 kick. On a regular day I flip back and forth between 4.2 and 4.4 (which most variable volt models can provide). If you know your sweet spot, I think you could definitely find something to accommodate. The provari just has the luxury of affording you all the sweet spots, and with great quality to boot.

If you're sweet spot is 4.0, a 4.0 ego-twist vape is going to be in the same neighborhood as a 4.0 provari vape (excluding differences due to regulation, battery size etc.) Once you know what you like, you don't really need a provari to get it.

I'm wrong, I love my provari....those of you who don't have one are doomed:(

I would buy another Provari:) but I can't buy another Provari as a backup to my Provari. :p I'm not made out of that much money :p I'm probably going to get a Spinner soon for a backup, and then look at the Lavatube 2 when it gets released.

I've got a ProVari standard, and I also have a Kicked Legacy from PureSmoker with an 18650 extension tube. I use Penelopes on both of them, and I vape both at about 7.5 Watts. Honestly, I consider them equivalent vapes.

I think what you're leaving out, is all the stuff you've bought and all the setup's you've tested, until you came to this conclusion

I love my Provari. I use it 90-95% of the time. Occassionally I'll take my lanyarded BB out of the house with me when I don't want to hand-hold my Provari everywhere or put it in a pocket. I also have a Silver Bullet that is sleeping in the dark recesses of my vaping gear bag.

So, I don't really need another backup. There are times when I wish I also had a Provari Mini. To think I could have VV on an APV the size of my BB.

Maybe if my financial situation is good in April of next year I will treat myself to one as a reward for my 1 year anniversary. Hmmm, maybe if my tax refund is enough....

Everybody seen these from Evolv? The Kicklet...

Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.

3KIKLET.jpg

What is the Kiklet? It's a variable wattage screw on module that utilizes the Kick by Evolv. Kick sold seperately.

Advantages and features:

- Allows use of the Kick on devices that don't have a sleeve or don't have room for the Kick (like many 18350, 18500 and 18650 battery equipped mods)

- Fits most any 510 threaded PV

- No removing the Kick for each battery change (and tearing the protective plastic) and then having to fiddle with it again to get it in and make a good ground. Set it and forget it!

- Almost instantaneous transfer from device to device.

- Rodium Plated contacts

- Cap accepts most any 510 atomizer, rebuildable, tank and also Ego C and Ego Tank style atomizer

- Cross slotted for airflow

- Stainless steel contstruction

I have the zmax as well as a provari, zmax comes close works great and seems strong. L-tubes i had the version 1 and 1.5...dont have them anymore..junk...if u are a all day vapor and carry ur pv arourd with you and could drop it you want to be able to pick it up and it work, than provari is the way to go

LOL ... true, but I didn't think the thread would stand for a book-length post, and for the OP's purposes, it would have been TMI ...

I'm kinda moving away from VV and going mechanical, although I would very much like a z atty pro....

As I understand it, the Z Atty U and the Z Atty Pro are the same exact atomizer; the Z Atty Pro just has a decorative skirt to help it blend in with the ProVari. So, if you like, I see no reason why you couldn't "go mechanical" and enjoy Z Atty performance with the "U" version. ("U" stands for Universal.)

And if you're looking for a very nice, solid mechanical mod, I have a Legacy Standard from PureSmoker and I really like it. It's all solid SS, like my SS satin ProVari, and the Legacy can accept up to an 18650 with a Kick. If you like the stealth mode, the Legacy comes in a Mini, as well.
