I blew a lot of money at first trying things that were a lot less than perfect. It cost over a hundred dollars for a cig-alike with 2 batteries, I stocked up on pre-filled cartos for it, (traveled to the states to bring back the ones with nicotine), but, through trial and error and ECF I found what worked for me and what was worth stocking up on.

The first six months was mostly shopping and stocking up, about $1,200.00. Since August 2012 I haven't bought anything vape related. I now need a few supplies, another spare Twist or 2, and I have been waiting for the Protank Mini, so I will pick them up soon.

I put $9 daily into a jar and use that money for:
- Tickets to CHL hockey games ( I enjoy live Junior games more than Professional televised games) $600 X 2 for the season
- The deductible for any prescribed medicine (blood pressure and cholesterol are ongoing treatments)
- Lotto tickets ($70/month) for a chance to Dream!
- Concert tickets (as required)
- vaping supplies ("as required", not "as wanted")

The vaping gear is much more reliable today than it was a year ago. DIY allows me to mix what I like when I want it at a nearly insignificant cost. With the long wicks available now, I often enjoy 1 tank of flavored juice and then many tanks of unflavored to get just a subtle taste.

I have cash on-hand (~ $1200) to buy any vape set-up I want, but I am satisfied with a Twist, Vivi Nova Mini (soon a Protank Mini), but of course I have lots of other set-ups for different occasions (Mini eGo and CE2, for stealth), and I am

Yeah...saving money isn't working for me either. I was ahead at my 6 month point, then went crazy (like celebratory gifts to myself -all vape related).

Then I just realized a moment ago and posted in another thread, that my 1 year is fast approaching, and "IF" I don't buy anything for the next 17 days, my "break even" and anniversary will be within a few days of each other. Not sure that is gonna happen though! :p

But in retrospect: I am still spending less per year than the hubby does on his smokes.

I have never backslid, never even been tempted. I jokingly considered having a cigar at my 1 year anniv, but when that day comes, I'll realize that all I would be doing is disappointing myself and resetting a timer. I'm truly done with tobacco! And you will be too, folks!

Great idea! I will start putting $7 a day into a jar.

Leaving for Las Vegas next week. My better half has never been, I was there a few years ago for work. We have front and center seats for O, and some other shows lined up. Unfortunately her favorite since she was a teenager, Donny Osmond won't be there until the following week. We want to try some slot machines, nice restaurants, and have a couple drinks. Really looking forward to it.
