What sort of smoke alarms would notice it, I have heard rumours but never actual reports on it

A couple of mls is far too much. You'd be in the toilet puking your guts up for the rest of the flight.Drip a couple mls into your drink
Stealth vaping in the lavatory of a plane can set off the smoke alarm.
Bad press is the last thing the e-cig community needs right now, so I wouldn't advise stealth vaping on a plane in any case. If the flight is long and you need your fix, try to make do with gum, patches, or other licit methods.

When I fly, I tend to use either a disposable blu/progressive or be very very careful. I've heard that in LAX they're going to start taking people's ecig's away since some Wookies found a way to put dirty pictures in them. I'd rather be out the $9.50 for a disposable than lose my $140 kit (not even including the cost of juice).
What kind of bad press are they getting? I thought overall e cigs were popular and viewed in a positive light since it helps people quit smoking
