I like ECF because members are helpful, civil, and polite. Most seem to be above average in intelligence too. They are able to form entire sentences and make replies without dropping F Bombs and using foul language. It is a breath of fresh air compared to some other places.

My personal opinion is that because we restrict the usage of foul language it kind of makes us more creative in getting our thoughts out there. We use our brains more instead of relying on a curse word. :)

Somewhere out there
I love ECF because you will always find people that will help if you have a question, many very experienced vapers here that have tons of experience. Funny witty responses that will make you smile along your vape journey and someone to lift you up when you need it. Best place for vapers :)

Holy goodness has become a favorite epithet of mine, and I also agree that cursing is like, a shortcut to creativity. It really should be reserved for when all else fails.

I MAY need a bit of capitalization filter, but sheesh one thing at a time. Yes, many members are super smart, you can get smarter almost by osmosis it sometimes seems. If you just, well, don't get upset the first time you get legit feedback on an issue you are having, I'm afraid I've seen a few of those pouts.

That's the thing though about legitimate feedback, sometimes it can Suck but I would like to know one person who has successfully learned a complicated skill just by trial and error other than Unicycle riders. But they're an odd bunch.

Greetings!
I am new to this forum, and want to know what you like best about being an ECF member.

There is no single best but here are a few of the many reasons I like being an ECF member --
  • Lots of info - from beginner to advanced.
  • Great, helpful, folks - many who have been on the forum for years.
  • A very adult-like atmosphere - very little bashing even when heated or opinions differ.

Greetings!
What do you recommend I check out?
I'd start out at the new member forum. Just read and read. Also, if there is anything in particular that you are interested in --search it first you may find what you are looking for. If not, post.

Greetings!
Is there anything you think is different about ECF than other forums?
I am not a huge forum, person and have stuck with ECF for years because it is different than many other forums. Here are some differences --
  • It is a well-run, organized forum.
  • Very little, if any, bashing.
  • Very few trolls (that I have observed)
  • Super nice moderators who seem to enjoy what they do and only step in when really needed. (Ever see some of those forums where the mods are jerks and jump in and demean constantly --you will not find that here)
  • Members that are genuinely interested in helping others in their vaping journey and will take the time to patiently answer questions, assist others and offer helpful recommendations.
I've looked at some of the other e-cig forums and I either cannot find my way because the info is all over the place, or I find a lot of insulting and bashing which I do not like.

So welcome - you found a great forum.

I like the fact that by coming here I have added greatly to the Gross Domestic Product of several countries.

Nah, all you have to do to feel smarter and sophisticated, is raise your pinky when you click "post reply"... instant smartness. :)

The best part of ECF, for me, is the people. Not only are they kind and knowledgeable, but no one will judge you. It doesn't matter what your vaping style is, how old your gear is, or how many times they've answered the same question, they continue to give freely from their expertise and acquired knowledge.

And the fact that ECF has some of the BEST, most ACCURATE info, yet remains free to everyone, is almost unbelievable. I consider myself so lucky to have found ECF when I did. And I'm grateful to everyone who has helped me along this roller coaster ride!

The constant feeling like I'm being watched & every action I take judged.
Honestly I'm too new here to really have an opinion. People seem nice, so far, & the knowledge accurate. I've been used to too much nonsense talking in the past with internet forums.
You know how guys tend to pretend they know everything about cars, always have to have an answer to a question, but it's wrong 90% of the time? Yeah, that. I havn't found that here, which is awesome.
