Either the MVP, a Vamo or an innokin SVD - their all good devices, easy to use. But it all depends on if you want an internal battery or separate batteries. I've had my Vamo for 9 months and the SVD for 6 months - both still going strong.

For tanks, if you want to try rebuilding, I'd say the Kayfuns are one of the best out there, I've got 6 different Kayfun style toppers - amazing vape with cotton micro-coils. For ease though, maybe try a carto style to start with.

The Only other regulated mobile power containers for ecigs made in the USA are as follows: in order too:

Your being silly edyle.... there are plenty made in the USA.

Futura

Cyborg

Hana Mod V3

Vaporshark

DBModz

The Duke

Reo VV

ZNA

ANY given USA made mechanical with an Evolv Kick in it... I'm sure I'm forgetting a half dozen here.

Step outside of USA made, and the list would be quite long... China just came with the 20W regulation chip without the PWM, so there is that to look forward to flooding the market in the upcoming months. The first Segelei mod with the China 20W chip in it pretty much proves it fits inside the typical China tube mod footprint, so I would expect the ambidextrously manufactured VAMO V.X to have something like this chip in the very near future. You'll probably find it on fasttech in the $50-$80 range...

Edit - I'll also reiterate what others are basically saying; and that is your mod will have nothing to do with leaking tanks. IMO, all tank systems can gurgle, leak, or suffer dry hits no matter what format or brand. The only way to truly 100% eliminate the wonkyness of any given tank system is to ditch tank systems all together and drip/squonk.

Right now I use a triton tank with my Halo Triton battery, thats all I have ever used. Only been vaping around 6 months, still learning. Not familiar with kayfun, I'll have to look it up.

A Reo probably won't gurgle; but isn't the triton a topcoil? Topcoils don't usually leak flood and gurgle once you keep them upright.

The best bang for your buck will likely be the MVP 2. I have two, and they work great. They also have threading for both ego and 510, so any ego style clearos you already have will work without an adapter. Many of the mods out there only have 510 threading. However, considering the leaking problem, I'd research getting better toppers first.

I went through a slew of them when I started, I finally settled on carto tanks. I have no time to get into rebuilding, and I was never really all that pleased with any of the clearos I've tried. The least hassle came from Mini Protank II's. My husband still uses these a lot as he hates to fiddle with anything. I didn't really like the taste though. I preferred the taste from dual, top coils like the iClear 30 or iClear 16, but both seemed to require much more maintenance, and the iClear 16 leaked more often then not. Less of a hassle and good taste came from the iClear 16b. Bottom dual coil, but since they are plastic it restricted the flavors I could use, and since the coil couldn't e taken apart for a good cleaning, once they go they're gone. The coils were almost double the price of Protank coils too, so that hurt. I heard a lot of good things about Aspire bottom dual coils but I haven't tried them as of yet. I may not try them, since I'm quite happy with carto tanks and even my husband is slowly making the switch to them. For those, I prefer IBTanked. They seemed to be sized just right for cartos, and I've never had a carto accidentally slip out on me. Made of thick Pyrex glass and metal caps. I've dropped them numerous times and have yet to break one.

The Provari is a great mod, but as Baditude said, that won't solve your gurgling problems. I would consider solving your gurgling problems 1st, and then look at different mods. For ease of use and consistent results give carto tanks a shot with your current mod. Carto tanks have stood the test of time as far as consistent performance, are very inexpensive to purchase, and are inexpensive to maintain. Plus they deliver wonderful flavor. Besides, when you get a new mod you will have tanks ready for your new mod you are familiar with and can rely on. Then when you have a nice vape you are reasonable happy with start looking at other mods for the 2nd step. And I agree with others that the MVP 2.0 would be very hard to beat for reliability, flexibility, and price point. The MVP has an excellent track record and is one of the few Chinese mods with a good warranty.

Oh, and don't take the guys suggesting mods like the Billet Box, Opus D, etc. seriously. They must not have read your original post saying the Provari was too expensive right now. Those mods (and most of the others they mentioned) are more expensive than the Provari and probably wouldn't fit your purchasing criteria. They are great mods no doubt, they just don't fit as an answer to your original question.

    ibtanked tank

done. vaping like a boss and barely out of pocket.

add a few cartos to get you through for a while, the $2.50 filling tool from ibtanked and a usb wall wart and you're in at around $80 for a near perfect, satisfying vape you can count on without trouble. you're not going to get a better or more reliable vape at twice the price.

Damn. Was looking for more VTR posts. I just ordered it.

I don't care about having "the best" but is it at least good?

Oh, yes it is a good device.

Unlike the MVP and vv3 which Start at 6 watts (which would be too high for me with single commercial coil), the VTR starts at 3 watts; You can change the battery.

Dont bother with the Vamo..I had 2 and the threads stripped on both. Also my tanks were always wobbly on them. I have a MVP 2 and they sit like a rock and very nice. It is a internal battery though but if I can get a year out of it I got my 40 bucks worth.

Weird, I have both the MVP 2 and the Vamo and, even though the MVP is a great device, i find the Vamo much more comfortable, and have had none of the issues you describe
And, as the poster above me stated, I do not like that you can´t set the W lower than 6 in the MVP.
On the plus side, you can read lower Ohms with the MVP, in case you build your own setups. The Vamo will just give you a "low load" message, below 1.2
