I own 12 Provaris and personally love them for my wife and I when we vape at 12-13w. If I was only going to vape at that wattage forever, I would just stick to Provaris. Still available used in the Classifieds or new from many online retailers. They are reliable and durable enough to keep for the future IMO.

I also like some of the higher wattage (150-220w) stuff coming out of China for subohm, but the OP wouldn't need that unless a 2 battery mod was of interest for longer life.

12 Provaris.....WOW

Ok, sorry for the delayed response. Thank y'all SO much. I think this is plenty to work with and I have some direction to research regardless now with the consistent chipset themes. On a side note...I quit paying attention when the shift from VV to VW happened. All of the stuff out there now...it sort of makes your head spin. But, I appreciate it!

If this helps any, all the mods I have show the VV in the display screen even tho you set the mod with the watts. Actually I have not seen any that do not do that.

:)
my pico's and rx2/3's do not show voltage though they could probably be configured to show it if I cared.

All my mods don't show volts, including the Radius.

I found it very easy to use just watts and it is a rather simple adjustment for most. Simply, start low and adjust for your taste. Soon you will learn the range you prefer for the atty and coil you are using.

For all practical purposes, with VW ohms of the coil are not near as important as they are with VV. For example, if you find you like 10 watts on one atty with a 1.0 build, you likely will use the same wattage using a 2.5 ohm coil on the same style atty.

Of course, there are exceptions, depending on gauge of the wire or using twisted or clapton or 4 coils or some such...but start low and move up, ajusting for taste, always works when experimenting with new atty's and coils. ;)

Weird, all of my picos do. And my rx2/3's. I use them in watts mode so that may be the difference.
:)
the pico I was looking at is my roomies and it is in watts mode but has the latest eleaf firmware with the simplified display. I could probably make it display but she (and I) wouldn't really care or know what volts means being fairly new vapers.

you can display it on the rx2/3 I think (mine has the latest firmware again) but I set the lower left corner display to puff timer ages ago and forgot about it. volt reading is of no use to me personally running in tc mode. all i care about is build ohms, watts for preheat and temp setting.

I've been vaping forever. I've been happily puffing away on a Provari p3 for a few years now and just learned that Provape threw in the towel. It's a good time to figure out what's next, but I have been completely removed from what's happening in vaping for a while now, so I could use some pointer, thoughts, etc.

I really don't want a thread where I get a hundred personal preferences.

My question is, what is out there, that is generally accepted by the community as "the best". I don't think people really argued that Provaris, at one time, were the cadillac of e-cigs.

I don't sub-ohm. I vape 1.8 ohm @ around 10 watts.
I prefer replaceable 18650 batteries and not built in
Must must must have good safety features built in.

Other than that...I want to hear about it please. Don't even care about price point if it's good.

So, what is everyone pretty much agreeing on as the best, or comparable to Provape, in terms of quality.

Thanks so much.
The really expensive stuff falls in the catagory of luxury goods. Those products either have a lot hand fit and finish or are exclusive in some other way. There's a market for that but i don't think that's what you mean by 'the best'. Main stream regulated mods aren't so different in durability and performance though some may have cases that are more expensive to make. Beause of likely government interference a lot of us are stocking up on the things that might be forced off the market. I want enough supplies to be good for 10 years and may be 20 if stuff works better than planned. For me a 10-20 year supply of mods is 10 peices that cost $300 total (Pico's and VTwo minis). They will certainly keep me vaping for 10 years, probably longer. Or you could pay $300 for one mod and it might be broken in a few years anyway. The authentic version of my prefered atomizer costs $70. Instead I bought 10 clones for $7 each. If you are a provari user you're vapingn low watts so a single battery mod will get it done and their are a bunch of decent ones to consider, foremost among them would be my particular favorites, of course.

between here and there
Mine shows the volt on the r2/3 On the lower half of the screen and under it is divided by amps and ohm(lower right).

I have not upgraded any of the pico's or rx2/3's because I use watt mode and haven't seen the need to do so.
My original response to the OP was hopefully to reassure him that voltage(vv) was shown on devices so he would feel in familiar territory and not feel so left out. He probably isn't planning on using tc according to his post.

:)

Super delayed response, but I wanted to follow up. I researched after this thread then spontaneously picked up a therion evolv dna 75 last week. It has a good dna chip, I like it so far. It holds two 18650's, even though there's no purpose with low watts, I like the battery life :) This thread helped me get caught up with what's out there, so I appreciate it!

While you are waiting and looking at variable mods you might want to jump in at a low price point and buy an Eleaf Pico. They are usually on sale from $21 to $25 bucks. You get standard power mode, TC mode, and coverage for half a dozen or so wire types in TC mode.

It fits in the hand nicely and also slips into a pocket without taking up much room. The Pico operates from 1w to 75w and it's really comfortable at 10W with a high MAH battery lasting most of a day. It also has a Bypass mode that lets you vape on a battery at its current voltage, like a mech.

The nice thing that you'll like is that it's a single replaceable battery 18650 mod, so you can use your 10A AW Provari 18650's in it as long as you don't crank the wattage too high. When a battery change is necessary you just unscrew the battery cap like you did with the tube mod Provari, drop in a battery, and replace the cap.

I would keep vaping on your P3 , still super high end compared to what else is out there , 99% of mods cannot to this day match it's quality .

Many of the mods mentioned in this thread are nowhere even remotely close to a Provari in quality .
