What does it mean that I have a 501 battery with 4081 threads?

I like it but didn't like their cartos, none of them taste enough like tobacco for me, so after trying it for 4 days I decided to return it and get something with more versatility as far as finding a liquid I like. Their cartos have a very sweet finish, which is ok, I'm just not loving it.

I just looked up the 808 cartos, they are female threaded, so they would not be compatible with my battery, which is also female threaded, my cartos have to be male threaded so I am guessing I will have to go with 4081 cartos?

Hi Laina, what they told you doesn't make sense to me. The numbers are for the type of thread. There are 501s and 4081s. I haven't heard of two together before... If your thread is RN4081 then it's compatible with KR808D1 cartos. If your thread is 501 it may take 510 cartos - I think. 501 and 510 seem to be used interchangably as thread names. You may be able to get a 501 to 808 converter cheap if you want to use 808 cartos.
But you need to know which type of threading it is. Sounds like they have given you the run around.

It sounds like this particular e-cig is proprietary to their company. I *think* they are saying that it is a 510 battery that accepts the RN4081 atty. IOW, the cell is a 510 but the threaded part is NOT a standard 510, it is threaded for the 4081. The OP said that with a KR808D she'd be dealing with 2 female ends, batt and carto...

What I'm saying there Ritchie is IF its a 501 and she wants 808 cartos she could prolly get a converter. They should tell her what the threading is clear and simple. The OP has looked at the threads and 808s and said they are not compatible.

"Proprietary" threading is usually just a way of saying an obscure thread. e.g. Greensmoke which if I remember rightly are E9 threading.

I am pretty sure its a 4081 thread, the pic Richie G posted looks just like the cartos I use now. I guess its just going to be trial and error. I'm pretty unhappy with them right now. I am also going to look into a converter since I love the batteries, they have a very long life. Thanks for the tips and help!

I suggest starting your trial with KR808-D1 cartos. They are compatible with RN4081s.
