I have 6 different juices from three different local vape shops. Each one leaves a sour/bitter like taste at the back of my mouth. When I got two new juices yesterday, I decided to go ahead and change out the coils of my two Kanger Evods, before adding the new juices. I got that same bitter/sour taste. Your input appreciated. Thanks

Yes I did. The first two I purchased were 9 mg, then moved up to 12 mg, now 18 mg. considering I smoked 2 packs a day x 12 years and smoked a total of 50 years, I thought the increase would help keep me from wanting the cigs. The nasty taste I am getting from all of these juices is what I am trying to get away from. I find the pall mall orange has no flavor at all. This is nuts. I don't want to buy a new e juice on a daily basis!!!

As an aside, I taste the same bitterness of I eat anything with red food coloring in it. Also, years ago I used to always have Lebanese Iced Tea with pine nuts at a restaurant we went to on a weekly basis. My husband, granddaughter, daughter and myself all had the tea with pine nuts every time we ate there. A day or two after the last time I had the pine nuts, I starting having crazy taste changes. Anything salty tasted real sour and anything sour was worse. This lasted for about a month.mi did a look up on what could cause sour taste and an article about pine nuts came up. Pine nuts can cause this in certain people, nut not any pine nuts, mostly the ones from China. No one else in my family has a problem with pine nuts or red food coloring. Genetic???

Most juice need to be steeped before you can vape it and taste it real flavor.
Is the juice you bought pre steeped?
What is you PG/VG ratio?
VG will sweeten your juice.

Don't know if the juice is pre steeped. The place I bought it from had it in larger containers in a separate room and filled the smaller bottle. The bottles are marked "Max vg" but they couldn't tell me the ratio. I was thinking maybe 80/20??

I have added some vg to the juice in the tank and it did help, but it does concern me that I am tampering in areas I am not familiar with. I used a vg purchased at hobby lobby that is used to soften/rework icing and fondant. It is 100% vg.

Pg has a bitter sweet alcoholic-like taste, but I doubt that is your issue, since it's both max-vg and since flavoring highly masks that and just enhances/up-brightens the flavor. I would nomally suggest bad vg, since if vg gets bad / too hot temperature for storage, then the vg can posibly get a sour edge to it's natural sweetness, but since you have the issue with liquids from different shops, then I don't think that's the issue either and am at a total loss about this then, sorry.

The juices may contain Butyric Acid. Butyric Acid may be used in milk and custard type vapes. If too much is used or you are sensitive to the taste the vape will be bitter and can - Gross Alert -taste like vomit.

Use the search box at the top of the page and Google to read more about BA.

If you do not think BA is the problem it could be that the vape shops use the cheapest of the cheap nicotine or flavorings. Try ordering from a known online vendor.
