Ruid is a name of a character for Baldur's Gate for PC, I used it for one of my characters. The 57 is for the 57th Fighter Intercept Squadron that was based in Iceland where I served from 1990-1991. It no longer exists and Google Earth shows the hanger where I worked doesn't either.

I was playing alot of "Heroes Might and Magic 3" back in the day. I liked the names on the heroes from Nekropolis and Inferno so I came up with a name on my own.

When I was 14, I wanted an online "handle" (it was dominantly BBSs back then; then came AOL). I literally mashed the keyboard and out came Goolag. Several years later I found out that there is something called a "gulag" (google it) which I wasn't too fond of. I shortened it to Goo. Needless to say, 16 years later I still use it.
