"Sed Contra" is Latin and means "On the contrary," which is most notable, perhaps, from the Summa Theologica of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Thomas would begin each of his arguments with objections to his argument (Objection 1, Objection 2, etc...), then he would say, "On the contrary," followed (usually) by a quote from some authoritative source, then he would give his argument, followed by his reply to each objection (Reply Obj. 1, Reply Obj. 2, etc...); anyway, my using Sed Contra is just a Thomistic tip of the hat.

Fried Liver Attack is a chess opening that involves sacrificing a bishop in order to run the opponent's king out of safety and into the middle of the board. I'm no longer Catholic so I have no problems sacrificing bishops. Oddly I have used it for a long time as a username on backgammon sites and haven't played a game of chess in many years.

both myself and my kids love pickles.. self explanatory :toast:
Sweet or dill? I'm a dill guy. I'm also a type of pickle myself:

Once you become a pickle, you can never go back to being a cucumber...

Sent care of the guys that made Star Trek low tech.
