Hopefully this puts suspicions to rest. Maybe it's confusing since I flipped the innards over and stuck them back in the tube facing up since I didn't want to get juice everywhere.

For those that haven't read the other big thread about burnt taste, 2 of my 10 cartos were rancid from the start. The others generally seemed great, but over a week, they started loosing their flavor and causing respiratory issues (sinuses, tight chest) which we misinterpreted as the flu. The super-nasty melted carto is one that I thought was still "ok" tasting.

As for me digging them out of the trash: Go ahead, make fun of me, but it was the nightstand. I did what an addict does when they need a fix. I can either vape this wow for an infuriating ~20 hits just to get the same effect as 4-6 hits on the bloog. I miss it!!

I've considered buying the bloog batteries, but at the rate my wife and I smoke(d), 4 batteries + 10 more blanks would cost 1 month to break even when we haven't even broken even on initial investment. But one fear is it might happen again:

I believe we've also had reports of it [burnt taste] with our batteries as well, and besides even if that is the case, people WILL be using our cartos with other batts and with passthroughs, so we have to make sure they work with them, too.

here is my reasoning.... first good job bringing it up but the thing is these maxfusion carts are supposed to be used on thier battery. i understand the thought that hey kr 808 is kr 808. friend made that same mistake with cartomizers and E2 cartos must be the same and was worried when all he got was burnt taste. Ne ways it seems to me that the maxxfusion carts burn hotter on the max fusion battery. so they adjusted the battery not to over heat the carts and put out the right amount of vapor. and i mean if i didnt have a vv tekk and was a new vapor the maxx fusion just looks like an execellent choice.
while i admire you bringing this up. i see only a warning about using their carts on other kr 808 batts. being that the internals of the batt and carto have been moddified so they work great togther not apart.
but thats just my 2 cents

Would you please show me anything Leaford has previously said to back up your opinion? In the prior post, I quoted him as saying that they have the problem with some of BMF batteries too, and the cartos have to work for all batteries.

I believe the plastic ring is what seals the cart at the battery end.

true. but there is also a plastic tube down the center. The filler is wrapped around it. As soon as I have one I don't mind sacrificing, I'll take one apart too and see what's in there.

Edit: I shouldn't say it is a plastic tube... I don't know what exactly it is made of. Just looks like plastic to me, but it could actually be some other material. Would be nice if someone that has actual factual knowledge could chime in. Or maybe that would be giving away a trade secret....

ok so .... The whole plastic thingy is a bit disquieting. however, In order for the plastic to actualy melt ... It would have to get very hot. I have not had this problem on any of my MF cartos. there is a thread where ppl complained about the hot cartos .... not sure if this is a flaw in some of the cartos, but mine worked fine. I did do some dismantling and flame testing of my own .... BTW a
V4L carto has the same plastic innards ... :p

well ... the only thing in the MF carto that did NOT burst into flame when exposed to fire was the element itself. that thingy with the wire wrapped around it. It may become discolored and gunked up from burnt juice but .... all other parts burned right up or melted in the open flame.

but as i said above .... It should not get that hot. Obviously there may be a problem with either the batt.s or cartos. I DO get the burnt taste when using a V4L batt. So I use My bloogs. End of Problem.

Leaford?

Leaflord has said the BMF Batts are regulated at 3.6 vs the 4.2 of a normal kr808 off that charger, thats a difference of over 1.5 watts on a 2.4 ohm cartomizer (5.4 for the BMF but 7.3 on a v4l) thats a pretty large wattage difference.

That means the bmf cartos on a bloog battery are running about the same overall wattage as a boge 2.0 cartomizer on an ego.
But the bmf cartos on a v4l fully charger will, for a few minutes anyway, be running at the same heat as a lr306 atty...which is hot enough to melt plastic as has been recorded plenty of times.

If that's the case (and it makes sense), Maxxfusion parts should specifically be labeled as not compatible with other kr808d-1 equipment. Even with the Bloog Fusion line.
Since the trifecta is part of the Fusion line and not the MaxxFusion line, the next question is: Are those compatible?
(up until now, I've had no problems mixing the two).
