What happened to my atty?

I'd used this atty for a few days without any issues. The other day I used it before leaving the house and it was fine. Got in the car not 20 minutes later. Topped off the cart and got the worst burning rubber / skunk taste and smell.

I've vaped primer. I've tasted a dry atty. This was nothing at all like those. It was overpowering. The smell it left lingering made me nauseous. It still functioned but was not at all usable. The cart looked fine. No burning or discoloration on the filler. Didn't see anything on the mesh.

Did a stink bug crawl inside of this thing or something?

Uber--Sounds like your battery got stuck on and gave the atomizer a real charing. The taste you experienced is the same as that of the auto clean cycles from days gone by, where the battery stayed on for 20 seconds or so to "clean" the atomizer coil.

Look for the source as to why your battery stayed on. You did not say if you had a manual or auto. If it was manual it may have just had it's button pushed in inadvertently, and if it is Auto, a malfunctioning switch or the wind from outside could have made it fire.

Whatever it was that caused the battery to stay on, the taste you are gettting is residue burnt off the coil of the atomizer and it should clear after a little while.
