I've been vaping for just over a year now, and so far I've had 3 Ego styles (1 dead, 1 as back-up, 1 stolen by wife), 1 20W istick (dead), 2 ipv Mini V2 (1 dead, 1 still working, but no display - makes life interesting guessing where it's at), 1 Provari P3 and 1 Provari 2.5 mini. My Provaris will carry me through the Vapocalypse and anything else the powers that be will throw at us vapers, and still keep going. The others? Well, they're fun to play with, but no, I wouldn't rely on any of them for the long run. Provari, on the other hand, along with its great customer service, is just unbeatable for a solid vape you can always count on, now and into the future.

however, my favourite Provari threads, are the ... my Provari just died threads

lol
Exactly!! When these awesome threads pop up (at least twice a week) I keep saying the same thing...

"My (insert new fangled mod name here) stopped working, melted, broke, vented, etc" threads: 647

"My Provari stopped working, melted, broke, vented, etc" threads: 0

Because Evolv's tech is way ahead of Provapes in the circuit board design category. Indeed, it's ahead of anyone else, really.

Provape just doesn't have a good handle on where the market is -- people want more than 20 watts in power mode. I am sure Provape realizes this, but perhaps they are content with the ever shrinking tootle puffer market share. At the very least, they could implement TC in their mods (something Evolv invented, btw).

YiHi has been wiping the floor with Evolve. Why do you think evolve came out with DNA200? Provape might be lacking power at 20 watts but there boards are the best bar none! The DNA40s and some early DNA30s were pure junk. I just hope the DNA200 are ready for prime time only time will tell.

The provape is dying thing seems just like the ipod killer thing. Ever since they started selling it, every 6 months, there is is... The ipod killer! Well after several years it ended up being the iphone. Now the same cycle is repeating with the iphone. I mean eventually it will be right probably... Maybe? Most commentary ignored the fact that people might like the ipod design, or the software... No, they must be sheep, it doesn't have 60 buttons.

I suspect there is another parallel... Android way more users, apple less users crazy high margins. I wonder if provape isn't just the apple of vaping.

My advice get a couple of provaris and a couple of hex ohms and there you go :)

Really? Screen issues of no end, TC which wasn't ready for release? More power certainly doesn't equal high tech. Even the Chinese 'clone' Evolv chips are better than Evolv chips...

Screen issues were a black eye, I agree. But the TC worked perfectly from day one. Yes, people .....ed about having to build with annealed nickel 200 and some atomizers had too much static resistance, but it doesn't mean the tech didn't work. BTW, the "nickel is too soft" build problem is easily solved with tempered Ni200.

And I agree that more power does not equal high-tech. As Brandon from Evolv said "The Darwin was a 20W mod, but we scaled it back to 12 watts because we didn't figure anyone would use 20 watts." (Remember this was back in 2010-2011). As he said, increasing watts is easy.

Love them or hate them, Evolv has pretty much set the pace of regulated vaping. They were the first with VW (patented it in fact) and were the first with temp limiting. And now it looks like they have quite a few firsts with the DNA-200.

BTW, I have never owned a single Evolv product. I cannot afford to spend $200 on a mod, but I envy those who can. I am content with my cheaper Yihi powered IPV mods.

I just respect what Evolv has done on the technical end of vaping and I recognize that they are the best in the business (from a circuit board design capacity). I will admit that Provape's mod construction, attention to detail and QC is the best in the business.
