What happened?

I just got my ipv mini 2. I tossed in an efest 2500mah 35A IMR and attached my Kanger Subtank mini with the .5 ohm coil rba. I set it at 15 watts and a few hits in...bam. I got an explosion(not literally an explosion) of nasty vapor.

I checked the mod and battery first...all was well. I took apart the tank and while the coil looked like one that was used and needed to be replaced, it's structure seemed to be intact though. The cotton looked minimally burnt where it was inside the coil. I can't seem to figure out what went wrong. Thoughts?

Had you just put the coil in and started vapeing it i.e you didnt drip drops *onto* the cotton in the head and let it sit a couple minutes while taking the occasional dry puff before powering it? That could cause that except the fact that you had some toots makes it seem doubtful IMO. Could be a bum coil? I wouldn't suspect a dry hit. Hmm, I am kind of stumped here. It could have just been a bum coil or maybe you accidentally cranked your devices power without realizing. Sorry I cant be of to much assistance. Edit: actually, how much juice has that coil seemed. It could be dead. Install a new one and if it vapes good just get rid of that head.

I had been using that coil in the rba with my mech mod for the past week give or take. So it was completely saturated and had been vaping perfectly with a battery charged to a max 3.9V. So it was running around 25-30 Watts previously.
