What imaginative title can I dream up?

Ohh look at all those options I have, that I won't use.

I smoked tobacco for 44 years, but I wasn't addicted, I could give up any time I wanted to, I just didn't want to.

Then a friend introduced me to vaping, and I got well and truly hooked! I didn't take it on straight away, I had to make sure I had enough money for my tobacco before I'd commit to my first $45.00 purchase, a KangerTech Protank 3, an eGo-C 450mAh battery & charger, and a flavour, grape I believe?

That was on June 5th 2014 at about 4:00pm. That evening whilst driving home with my new gadgets I thought I'd like a smoke, and not being confident to use my gadgets whilst driving I grabbed the 3/4 cigarette in my ashtray. It was bloody horrible, if that's what I was giving up I was glad to. I've not had another cigarette or part of a cigarette since.

About 3 weeks ago I decided to delve into rebuilding, with absolutely zero knowledge of what I was trying to do or how to do it. I discovered eGo type batteries don't respond well to sub ohming, in fact they expire! My latest purchase, I can make lots of purchases now I don't buy tobacco, is an itaste 134 MX-Z and I just made a dual coil by wrapping two wires at the same time, Kanthal 28 gauge, into my itaste VF.

Want to know anything else I have some knowledge of? :)

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

4 very important safety related questions for you.

1. Do you have an ohm reader or a DMM?
2. What is the ohm of your current build?
3. What battery are you using (brand/mAh/amp rating)?
4. Have you read up on battery safety, ohms law, amp draw?

Hello Susan,

Yes I have an Ohm meter, it's called Omnitester by SMOK

Current build is 0.4o I think? I have 4 rebuildables and never can remember which one I'm using. :D

I'm using an Efest IMR18650

I've watched videos and read stuff about Ohms Law, but really it's all just gibberish to me, all I need to know is the thinner the wire the higher the Ohms per foot of wire, so thick wire - 28 gauge and below - is sub ohm territory, and can get a bit hazardous. I regularly use 28 gauge, 32 & 34 gauge.

Currently I'm using an IGO-L RDA, which I made into a dual coil, and I'm testing which wick is best, so I have organic cotton wool on one side and twisted silica on the other.

Mate, your ambivalence to the electronics and the mechanics of SAFE vaping hurts my heart. Ohm's Law "gibberish" is the science/engineering we need to keep ourselves safe while vaping, and that "ALL" you need to know is "the thinner the wire, the higher the Ohms per foot" is merely a recipe for disaster.

Please take a bit of time and review the blogs offered here: E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs He offers resources in easy-to-understand language and concepts to help keep vaping experiences safe.

There are so many folks out here on these forums who will offer sage advice, if you've an interest.

Best wishes to you

I don't understand electrickery simple as that, mind you I don't understand how an internal combustion engine works and I've not run anyone over, so I must be doing at least a little OK!

I know that if I use thick wire I get low Ohms and really fast heat, which doesn't go so well on unprotected batteries, so I don't use low Ohm devices on unprotected batteries, what can possibly go wrong?

I can read your links and have the same understanding as I have now, none. Now I've only destroyed 2 eGo style batteries, set fire to nothing, electrocuted no-one, there's not an issue, unless I do something silly, which I won't do as I already did it, and once done no need to do it again.

Thanks for your advice, have a great day.
