Vapoor Eyes Er is right on the money with that recommendation. I went with Apollo for my Stainless Steel Vtube; i love it and am still experimenting with different set ups. My favorite right now is a 20/80 juice in a 2.5ohm dual coil tank cranked up to 5.5v......... MEGA VAPOR!

2.5 Ohm is a high resistance no? Is it ok if I used LR atomizers with the Apollo and changed to a lower voltage setting, I only have LR atomizers :)

Yeah as NancyR said LR are really meant for 3.7 Volt PVs. The VTube is the same as all the other models I mentioned- Lambo, etc. Your eGo is a 510 threading and the VTube is also 510 threading- the most popular of threading. If you don't use standard resistance cartos, clearos, etc you are really limiting the true intent of a VV.

Sounds like a good deal, I've watched a few youtube videos reviewing the Lambo, which looks identical to this one, and it seems good, but does it accept the LR atomizers? Because the threading on the Lambo looks a lot different than on my Ego, although I didn't see it closely.

Limiting the true intent? I don't quite understand; if I use a LR atomizer with one of the VVs, will it produce different tasting vapor or break the LR atomizer? Thanks for all the help.

They have an amp limiting circuit that throttles back the voltage when you use LR stuff. You can set it to 6 volts but it will fire at around 4 volts due to the LR device attached...

LR atomizers/Cartos/etc are designed to mimic the function of a higher voltage, but they're a bit more delicate when you start playing with voltage. You can pop them much easier than the standard resistance ones.

Edit: And also above.

I'd recommend an eGo twist, if you're having trouble with the price-tag on something like a LavaTube. The Twists are cheap considering what they do, and a good introductory piece.

Yea even though I do currently own a couple mini lavatubes, I would not recommend them if you like using dual coil cartomizers or low resistance stuff at higher voltages because this device will just not let you do that so using a dual coil carto at 5 volts is not able to be done. I would recommend the ego twist for seeing if you like the VV world as the ego twist are pretty solid devices and seem to be getting great reviews from everyone. Good luck on your quest to find a good variable voltage device.

So using a VV with a LR atomizer is kind of like a waste? I read somewhere that the total watts with a LR atomizer and 3.7 volt device is very similar to a 5 volt device with a regular resistance atomizer (I'm guessing 2.5 ohm is regular resistance). Sorry for asking so many questions already, but what would I have to do to get the maximum possible wattage on my vaporizer (e.g. getting the vaporizer to produce as much vapor as possible). It's not because I want to vape crazy amounts like that, but it would be nice to have that option :)

That about sums it up when your talking about an amp limited VV device. LR devices were invented to provide 3.7 volt units the "performance" of higher voltage systems. The amount of vapor produced depends on many factors, including the juice itself, not just wattage...
