Hey everyone i been a member for a lil while now not that long but I am even doing my own DIY for my flavors... tonight i just wanted to do some searching on the net and checking out any new blogs or posts people are making all over the web (Google searched) and i see so much hate and people calling the e-cigs or as i like to call them "Vaporizers" the gateway for underage smoking ----- Hello! welcome to 2013 america im 29 even when i was in highschool I was smoking cigarettes omg they are acting like this is some sort of epidemic or something.

I see some other ads saying their not safe when there is plenty of blogs and interviews by doctors and scientists and even chemists saying its safer than cigarettes........ And for those of you that disagree because i know your out there based on facts from the CDC cigarettes kill 5 MILLION people yearly.... doubt me? CDC - Fact Sheet - Fast Facts - Smoking & Tobacco Use So i am in a bit of amazement that more and more people aren't just accepting e-cigs / vaporizers. I know a lot of people are for it so thats awesome but i just felt like sharing because I just read some posts for people saying oh it's leading younger people to smoke -- news flash...they already do! and some others just trying to hit points as if this is a perfect serine world without any tobacco or alcohol or ..........

Just thought i would share, more like venting on the subject but i just really dislike people talking out of their @$$ sometimes.

Live long, free and forever Vapor community!!

Oh I don't know... it's out there though, I ran into it last night at the bar, where this 70 year old guy sat down next to me, looked at my vape and started ranting at me that it was just pure NICOTINE! (rant, rant, rant, rant....) sigh....

I was posting to a thread on another forum about vaping and how it's helped so many quit smoking and some guy jumps in and starts ranting about how you are going to blow your face off and need surgery and on and on and on, and no matter what anyone in the thread said he just kept it up. One woman told him to go look at pictures of cell phone explosions.

I think there are just some people who are so ignorant, bored and alone they desperately need something to rant about, something to judge and denounce others for, and vaping becomes their target. Anyone vaping becomes the target of such people's rants as soon as they pull out their vaporizer and start vaping.

Then it's "Aha! you are using NICOTINE! THAT'S A NICOTINE DELIVERY DEVICE!!!!! HA!!!!"

Such people are just mentally ill and need something or someone to hate and attack.

You must realize there are those in this world whom it is in their best interest to destroy the e-cigarette trade.

The pharmaceutical trade is our biggest and most powerful nemesis. They spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in R & D making the nicotine gum, lozenges, patches, nasal spray, Chantrix, etc. What are the success rates of those? Not good. Compared to those, e-cigs have a much higher success rate. So guess why Big Pharmacy wants to outlaw e-cigs?

Big Tobacco wanted to stop e-cigs, too. That is, until they realized it was better to join the enemy instead of fighting a losing battle. Now the tobacco companies are in conflict with each other, depending upon which companies have joined the bandwagon and which ones have not.

Big Government is not interested in its constituant's safety, only in how much money they can tax a new product. The problem here is they are in bed with Big Tobacco who wants regulations to favor their way of distributing the nicotine e-liquid to allow them to have a monopoly on the distribution.

The Ants groups' only reason for existance in life is to declare that something is not safe for our children and anything is a gateway drug to something worse. They are paid pawns by the pharmaceutical companies to do their dirty work for them.

The media is only interested in sensational news stories, because that is what gets bored viewers' attention and helps their ratings. Medical people who warn against the dangers of e-cigarettes are ignorant of recent studies and biased with their old beliefs and myths.

What's a vapor to do?

Well Big Pharma, Big Tobacco, and the government don't bother me all that much, there's very little I can do about them on my own, and they aren't directly in my face every day. It's the individuals I run into online and in the real world who crank up their ignorant judgmental hate trips at me and personally get in my face about it that give me the most grief.

Oh I don't think it will do any good. BTW, that guy at the bar last night ranting about my nicotine ordered up a plate of twice baked potatoes, (nicotine) with diced tomatoes around them, (nicotine), and the juice in my RBA was zero nicotine, one I made myself without it. Irony spoken here...

It's the Nancy Reagan cultists.

Ever since she uttered those infamous words "Just say no!!!" it turned an entire hoard of .... retentive zombies loose on the planet. You keep trying to kill them off with applied logic and scientific data but then they shriek "...for the children!!!" until the ears of the masses bleed and fall off. Once the ears fall off the masses are under the power of the NoNoNancies. (We are all so screwed...)

Ok it the money
First 5 mill a year will not die ------ they will pay bennys to them that live longer - most are older and have payed in too ss for 50 years
Then there is the taxes they are not getting yet --O and they will find a way to tax the crap out of vaping .
Then you got the cigarette makers they make billions a year what's going to happen to them ??? If we all quit ?????
Well then you got the state - there's not a lot of states out there that don't have a big tax on smoking .
They are looking for new ways to make Money not lose them.
Ok I will stop ranting lol

Good point, it does no good to argue with logic and data, they aren't the least interested in the facts. They are interested in having someone to judge and denounce, and as soon as you pull out your vape you become the target of the social attack poodles. Such people have always been with us, and vaping is just their latest target.

It's so convenient for them to spot you with your vape, they can jump right on you for that. Otherwise they would have to chat you up, or eavesdrop on your conversations in hopes you will say something they can get down on you for.

Nancy Reagan still has cultists?

The zombies are a result of the brainwashing that has been done by the ANTZ, more than the Octogenarian Ms. Reagan, I suspect. In any case, they are brainwashed and incapable of looking at the issue objectively. I have had posters here on ECF call me all manner of names for even suggesting the hazards of nicotine are roughly equivalent to the hazards of caffeine.

The anti nicotine sentiment runs deep. Skewer its proponents when you can, do not allow your personal happiness to be determined by whether or not they accept reality.

Well, since you ask...
:)

The first thing every vaper should do, obviously, is join CASAA...
Become a CASAA Member

It only takes 60 seconds.

We can either stand up and make our voices heard...
Or we can stand by watching while "they" decide for us how things will be...

In my four years of vaping I haven't had the pleasure of having the type of experience you describe.

And if I'm being honest, I really would like to have a little "conversation" with one of these folks someday.
I know that I am fully prepared to "answer whatever questions they might have" about any topic related to vaping.

It's guess it's too bad that all vapers aren't 6'5" and 260 lbs because if they were apparently they would all get left alone.

Agreed! And what pisses me off is kids are kids..they're going to sneak around and experiment w/things regardless of what anyone restricts or whatever. Maybe BigBro needs to ban all those delicious Vodka flavors out right now from Pinnacle like Whipped Cream, Cake, Strawberry Short Cake...

How about this, how about Antz/parents teach their kids what is right and what is wrong. As a teenager, if these kids were brought up right, obeyed their parents and not break the law (it is against the law to purchase an ecig under the age of 18) then you don't need to worry. If your kid is a bit of a rebel and decides to break the law, then BLAME THE KID or THEIR PARENT! How are these teens getting a hold of Ecigs, cigs or alcohol to begin with? Parents need to be held accountable and quit pointing the finger elsewhere cuz their kids aren't perfect angels.

People are responsible for their own actions, regardless if they are an adult or a teenage. They are old enough to know right from wrong so quit coddling them like their infants. Parents need to start parenting again, set down rules and give out consequences.

That's my :2c:

You know what parenting has taught me?

No matter what you do, no matter how hard you work at it, no matter how you control the environment your kids live in...sometimes things still go wrong. Some kids still do bad things, some kids still make bad choices. As parents, we do what we can, but ultimately, the kids still have to do the right thing when we aren't looking. I used to be the first one to say, "My child will NEVER do X". Ha! What amazing pre-parenting arrogance!

My kids do stuff all the time I swore I would never let 'em do. All I can do is hand out the punishments when they break the rules.

I have four sons. This song is perfect for how I feel about all four.

Ha, I am right in between you two!

6'2" and 220. I used to weigh a flabby 265 when I smoked. Now that I can breathe and move about, I am the way I was meant to be, and it feels great! They attempt to take my vaping at their own peril.

That is EXACTLY what my doctor told me- that medically speaking, nicotine is about the same as caffeine- in fact, they are very close as far as effects, risks, etc. And you don't see people freaking out about coffee, or caffeine in sodas.

Double standard in a big way.
