My opinion is that BP has a stronger foothold with the FDA than BT. I predict that pharma companies have done the studies on the benefits of nicotine for senility, alzheimers, parkinsons, etc., and are getting ready to start the marketing of their own nicotine medicine to treat these. They see that if ecigs are "allowed" to continue to be used by people, they will not recover their research and development costs when their products come out so they're trying to swat the ecigs as they would an annoying gnat so people don't have a cheaper alternative.

Some news of their studies have leaked out such as the "bell pepper" article not that long ago, but I find it interesting that more news about their studies are not disseminated openly. Just a thought...

In my four years of vaping I haven't had the pleasure of having the type of experience you describe.

And if I'm being honest, I really would like to have a little "conversation" with one of these folks someday.
I know that I am fully prepared to "answer whatever questions they might have" about any topic related to vaping.

It's guess it's too bad that all vapers aren't 6'5" and 260 lbs because if they were apparently they would all get left alone.

Tee hee hee :)
Never mind that - I have been vaping for 2 years, and I am 5 foot 4 and female.
BUT it is most certainly convenient to have a posture, bearing and look that clearly says "Do not f** with me. Do not even think about it".

Apart from that, I agree that
- those who are obsessed with the behavior of others would be better advised to clean up their own lives
- Big Tobacco, Big Pharma and Big Government have only their own interests at heart - and the health of human beings is NOT one of those interests, on the contrary (see old age pension payments, for one)
- if people continuously mess with a person (in any way), it may be very helpful for that person to attend an assertiveness training. (Criminals, for example, look for potential victims who seem to offer the least resistance. And I suppose that busybodies do the same. As they have the same objective: harming another human being for their own personal gain... in this case a feeling of "superiority". )

The State of Confusion
Oh I don't know... it's out there though, I ran into it last night at the bar, where this 70 year old guy sat down next to me, looked at my vape and started ranting at me that it was just pure NICOTINE! (rant, rant, rant, rant....) sigh....

I was posting to a thread on another forum about vaping and how it's helped so many quit smoking and some guy jumps in and starts ranting about how you are going to blow your face off and need surgery and on and on and on, and no matter what anyone in the thread said he just kept it up. One woman told him to go look at pictures of cell phone explosions.

I think there are just some people who are so ignorant, bored and alone they desperately need something to rant about, something to judge and denounce others for, and vaping becomes their target. Anyone vaping becomes the target of such people's rants as soon as they pull out their vaporizer and start vaping.

Then it's "Aha! you are using NICOTINE! THAT'S A NICOTINE DELIVERY DEVICE!!!!! HA!!!!"

Such people are just mentally ill and need something or someone to hate and attack.

Old saying "You can't fix Stupid"!

There are just some folks that strive at being ignorant, or doing the same thing over and over again that doesn't work, AKA being stupid! :vapor:

I try to educate those I can, but hey not all believe! ......!

There have been almost 400 members view this thread. I sure hope that everyone who reads this thread and isn't already a member of CASAA takes Robin's advice and takes the time to join. And just as importantly, WE have to support CASAA. Even a $1.00 a month will help.

And the more of us who add the CASAA banner to our posts, the more new members will learn that they have a voice against the anti-vaping lies. We just have to use that "voice" by joining and supporting CASAA. Keep up the good fight.

This is a good thread and i have been enjoying the read. Yes, already a member and displaying my membership proudly. See below.
