If you have 3 or 4 batteries,is it better to rotate all 3 or 4.
Is it better to just rotate 2 and keep the others on hand for when one wears out?

I would (and did) rotate 2 and keep the other 2 in cold for later use. Otherwise they might all die in a very short time window and you would be stranded.

Ditto. I rotate 3 batts at a time but always keep a couple of spares handy in case they all die at once. You just never know with these things.

I have 4 batts for my 103 and just run/recharge them in rotation. No issues so far. (crossed fingers)

I think it also depends on what kind of warranty you have on the batteries. For example, I purchased an extra battery with my Janty Dura (for a total of 3 batteries). I rotate all three of them because I have a 3 month warranty. I want to use them all so that if I have a problem, hopefully, I'll figure it out by using them fairly steadily during the warranty period.

Now, for batteries with a short warranty period, like a couple of weeks, I'll use it a couple of times to make sure there's no immediate issue with it, then it goes into a drawer to be pulled out once or twice a week.
