Hello there. Through my vaping experience I have noticed that some cartomizers have a crackling hiss sound and in a lot of youtube videos of advanced PVs you can hear it. I was wondering what the name of this is and which cartos make the noise more because I like it. It allows me to know its working and sounds nice too like smoking a kratek.

Theres no name for it, just " a crackling noise". Its not necessarily a feature of cartos, its a sign that the coil is well wicked and you are getting the proper amount of juice on it. This will happen more when using higher voltages. If you stop hearing it after a bit, either your battery is getting low or you need to add more juice to the carto.

Hi Ghost - interesting...I never realized that not hearing the 'noise' was an indication of losing battery power. Thanks for the tip.

Correct, if you know the carto is full and wicking, the voltage of the battery is where it comes into play. If you have a VV device, set it to a low voltage, maybe 3.3 and you will notice its barely there if at all, then go to 4.0 and 5.0 respectively and you will hear the difference. When a battery loses its charge, voltage drops therefore reducing the heating tempature and producing less "crackle".
