Ok, so here it is. I still smoke.8-o
I can't figure out WHY I keep buying them. I have my pv, and lots of juice, lots of flavors and so on. I can go for hours at a time just vaping away and be totally content with that, but then for some reason, I'll decide that I want a cigarette, and I enjoy it.
Now when I first started vaping, and spent the whole day doing nothing but, I would smoke a cigarette and not even be able to taste the darn thing. Except, of course the icky tasting stuff. Now, though. I can hit my pv every few minutes for like 4 hours or so, then light up a cigarette and it will taste like my first cigarette of the day.
What gives?? What the heck is wrong with me???:(

There is nothing wrong with you, your body just may be addicted to something else in regular cigs. I have been using ecigs for about two years but still use analogs :( although much less than I use to. What works for me is while I have an analog I also use my PV at the same time - one puff on the analog a couple of puffs on the PV. I figure eventually I won't want the analog anymore. Don't beat yourself up, you'll get there eventually it just may take you a little longer.

I do this regularly. Just doesn't seem like it is making much of a difference for me.

I've been at this for over a year and just got down to 2 cigarettes a day a few months ago.

I don't know why I smoke either !

It's frustrating, but I am much happier with 2 a day rather than the old 30 a day.

By the way, I couldn't get this low until I got an eGo with LR atty. You've got to try this if you're on something with less vapor.

Also, I'm at 36 mg liquid. Not sure that anything weaker would do, and I don't want to find out yet !

Good luck !

Your not alone. I've been vaping since October an I have not been able to give them up completely. Part of the problem was I was unable to find any juices I really liked. Or if I did I grew tired of them. I was a 2 + PAD smoker, I'm at around 5 to 8 a day and going down all the time.

I don't beat myself up about it, due to I'm still learning about my addiction and what my triggers are.

I also still smoke analogs but have cut down which at this point I guess I have to be thankful for. I'm not sure if I just don't have the right equipment the right juice or if it's just me. It's good even for me to read that there are others who have vaped for awhile but not completely off cigs. I know it is a little disheartening when you read about so many who quit right away but obviously there are some of us who still struggle for whatever reason.

So, I guess just keep plugging away at it like we are and hopefully some day we can all join the ranks of those who have quit entirely. Good luck.

There's a lot more in cigarettes that is addictive than just nicotine. It took me over a month to quit entirely. And I slipped up and had 6 over a 2 day period just recently. Don't beat yourself up. Just be glad that you're not smoking as much as you used to. For me, the first cigarette of the day was the hardest to give up. I've never been able to relate to those people who quit smoking the first day they got their PV. It was a lot harder for me.

Just hang in there. You probably didn't start smoking a pack or more a day overnight. Quitting may take you longer (if that's your goal - some people are content just to cut down.)

Good Luck! :)

I started vaping in Jan and never smoked at all since then ....UNTIL the weather got nice here in Canada. Now if I just go out to sit in my yard it just doesn't feel right not to have an analog. My wife still smokes so a couple of times a week I will Have one. I guess that gives me something to look forward to when the weather changes and it is minus 40 here

I think it depends on how bad you want to quit and what stage of life your at. It seems alot of the older smokers have more luck on quitting and not looking back. I smoked for over 50 years so my lungs were in bad shape and I have COPD and my next step would be going on oxygen like many of my friends and relatives are. Since I quit and started vaping my lungs are much better and I no longer wheeze cough or run out of breath everytime I go up the stairs. If I were you I would fight that urge to buy a pack or smoke a cig a little harder because your life depends on it.

I dont think the urge to quit even matters so much for many.
Myself - I never wanted to quit. I didn't buy a PV to quit, I enjoyed smoking I jsut didnt enjoy MOST of the cigs I smoked. Maybe about 5 I think I really liked, the rest were just 'filler' lol. I couldn't cut down just by wanting to though - every time I tried that it didn't last more than a day. I vought the PV to substitute the filler cigs and keep teh ones I liked.
10 days after getting it it seemed kinda stupid to keep smoking hte remaining 2 I was down to. It took a couple more days before I stopped missing them but the action of smoking that a PV mimics was enough for me. I never once told myself that cigs were banned or not allowed, and I still feel that way. If I really really want one, then I'll have one (although my half pack from december just ran out lol) and not feel guilty about it.
A pack of cigs is less than 2 packs, 10 is less than a pack, 5 is less than 10 etc etc - to me at least if its LESS then its good. Shouldn't matter how long it takes to get to zero, if that is even your goal, as long as you aren't tearing your hair out and feeling like a failure.
If you WANT to get to zero though and you can't, depsite your best efforts, perhaps looking into supplementing using the PV with something like a stonewall or swedish snus could help (MAOI are powerful addictive to some people who need them). Check out the smokeless tobacco subforums and the nicotine subforums for more info.
