I normally just pull the base off and rinse out the rest of the tank. You don't need to rinse the coil or anything, but you might get a mixed flavor for a few drags.
I just give it a quick rinse and shake with warm water. Then use hot water on the coil to rinse out excess flavour, fluff the wicks up a bit, dry it all out and it is good to go.
It depends on what flavor,.
Similar flavor (fruity to another fruity) you can get away with just filling with new flavor. If not, wash dry and fill should do it.
If you've had menthol or cinnamon or other very potent flavors you may need to use vodka (or any other high proof unflavored alcohol) to fully remove the flavor. As others have said with most flavors a rinse will do the trick tho.

Thats why I have 2 Protanks and a Davide...I clean after every tankful and sit them on the self. That way I always have a nice clean dry one to grab when I need one. Even though sometimes on weekends I have all of them going.
I used soak my 510 atomizers in vodka and had pretty good luck, but for some reason I haven't had any luck with protank/evod coils in vodka. For me it seems to make them worse. For the cost of an extra coil I just toss them after the performance drops.
