what is the buttery taste in sweet liquids?

does ayone know? also, some suppliers have it more than others in addition to some flavors have the buttery taste more than others.

i didn't think anything of it until i bought from a supplier that doesn't have that butter taste at all.

don't want to start another diacetyl thread, but i am wondering if this is the taste? do suppliers who don't use diacetyl still have that taste in their juices?

I do not know as I can't taste your liquid but on the flavour apprentice site is a section on buttery taste and it advises to buy two flavours from them which you compare and the taste is then more obvious to you. Time for some tastebud training I think..Have a look at it I think it has the info you need.
