What is the difference between NRT and tobacco alternatives?

Hi everyone,

I am looking for the exact differences between these two things:
NRT (nicotine replacement therapy)
tobacco alternatives

Sometimes i find there is a very thin line between the two. Hope you can help

NRT is when you want to quite nicotine.

tobacco alternatives is when you don't want to tobacco anymore, but still want the nicotine.

NRTs are sold for the purpose of quitting smoking, to help someone get off nicotine. The intent is that you would taper off and stop using the NRT product. Tobacco alternatives are a smokeless method of getting nicotine. There is no implication that you will lose your addiction to nicotine, just get your fix in a hopefully safer way.
