The V4 "body only" that i've ordered cost £45 ($70) from "charlies vape shop" with another £4.50 ($8) shipping. A chrome one would cost a little less at £40.

Well worth spending the extra for the SS IMHO. A couple of friends have the non SS and they wear terrible- scratches and wear spots. I ordered my SS V3 from FT so it will be awhile.

I didn't get my Vamo yet.. But I ordered the V3. The thing that sold me on the 3 over the 2 is: 1: threaded removable top.
2: threaded battery extensions. As I watched a few videos about the V2 it looked like the extension tubes snap or press into
place. To me that looked like the V2 had some quality issues because of it. 3: the OLED display. I know it doesn't really help
anything but I liked the way it looked. 4: They had a V3 in Stainless. 5: it was only a few bucks more for the 3 over the 2.

Good call as sometimes the friction fit part of the V2 can cause higher resistance problems. I had to disassemble mine and clean the friction fit pieces (oxidation) as the res was quite high and batts were draining quickly.

Thanks for the conformation. When I researched the Vamo's I wasn't sure if that press fit was on some V2 clones or all V2's.
I gotta say, I do like the looks of the V2 more then the V3. So I may have to order a V4 next. lol

Both of my V2s screw together. They are threaded. I have a stainless and a black chrome model.

I've had the V3 for several months now, and everything has pretty much been said here already. However, one extra thing I like about the threaded upper collar on the V3 is that I can un-thread it snugly against the bottom of my tank. I find that it helps stabilize the tank and provide extra support if it gets knocked over so the flimsy tank threads don't get messed up or snap off altogether. When I'm using my Viva Nova, I'll unscrew the collar snugly against the bottom of the tank. That's the only tank I've used so far ("Kanger Protank 2" in the mail) so I don't know how much gap there is on other tanks out there. My gap isn't large, but it doesn't rest on the body of my Vamo when it's as tight as I dare go either.

On a different note, I wonder when they'll smarten up and use the wider E-go threads on these tanks instead of the weak, tiny diameter 510 threads most tanks seem to use. They're just so prone to rocking and breakage since the shaft is so thin and flimsy. I hate the way my Viva Nova occasionally shifts, even when it's tightened down snug. It makes me cringe when I think of what is happening to the threads. The 510 threads make sense for smaller applications, but not for a large tank IMO. Most newer PV mods have both style threads, so why not take advantage of the wider/stronger E-go threads instead? They use them for the smaller mini tanks for use on the E-go style batteries, so why not put them on the bigger ones as well? Is there an aspect to fit and form that is causing them to shy away from this that I'm overlooking?

I thought about doing something like that. But then I thought it might not look right because of the grooves. I have some real nice
Carbon fiber that I used for something else. maybe I'll try doing the battery extension just for S&G's. The only think I don't like about the look is the grooves.. But I guess it will give me a better grip too. Small trade off that I can live with..lol

I hear ya. I also ordered the V3 and don't really like the grooves but I only use it at home so no big deal for me. Obviously with the V4 release they realized the V3 was a cosmetic failure

I own the V3 and find it a good PV for the money. I just want to say though that it DOES come with the mean function bu tit's hidden! The way to switch between mean and RMS is to hold down the left button for about 15-20 seconds, it'll show the battery voltage 1st and then it'll pop up on screen either output mean or output RMS depending on which one it was on already. Apparently it can be done on most of the Vamo's but as I only have the V3 and it's not supposed to be available for it I thought i'd try it and see if it worked and it did so as I saw this thread I thought i'd bring it to peoples attention! Sorry for bringing up an old thread though but I thought it benefited it.
