I'd suggest putting this in the mod section as there's people there who I know can answer (I read it somewhere!). Anyway, consider this a free bump! Really, no charge!

Oh and don't take this as gospel as my memory is sketching on good days but I believe it's <350 degrees. Of course there's a big temp difference between the coil and the atty tube. You might note what area you're interested in as that'll help insure you get the answer for the area you're needing.

The lower the resistance the higher the watts (heat produced) at the same voltage. Juicebox atty would be hotter than a Joye 510 (but then the JB atty isn't widely available by itself!). With all the new Low Resistance attys I believe the 510 has been eclipsed. For the more traditional "stock" and HV attys see RalphT's awesome chart. It won't tell you the tempurature but will tell you which will be hotter than others and what differnt voltages do to the heat.

Just wondering what is the hottest atty with or without a mod? How hot does it get? Really any information at all, I have a project in mind.

Thanks. :)

Sorry... but that's kind of ambiguous and in some ways it doesn't mean much.

If an atty is being fed e-liquid at the right rate, and the airflow through the unit is maintained, the coil won't get much above the vaporization temperature of the e-liquid (which is pretty low). If you increase the wattage.. and simultaneously increase the liquid delivery rate.. the actual temperature can remain pretty much a constant (which is exactly what you want).

The coil on an atty will get quite hot when it is not receiving enough liquid. And when that happens, the coil can actually glow "red hot" (almost any atty can do this)... which means that you're talking temperatures over 1000 degrees F. And by conduction and convection coupling, the outside of the atty body can get warm too.

The coil on the atty will stay relatively cool if it is getting too much liquid (below vaporization temperature), but in this specific case the outside of the atty housing can actually get warmer than one would think because the liquid is conducting the heat away from the coil and transmitting it to the atty casing. Badly flooded atties can "feel" quite warm.

Soooo... calculating the wattage that an atty will consume is quite easy. But trying to figure out "how hot" it actually runs... well that's pretty complicated and relies on a lot of factors.

I should have known that it isn't all that simple. KNOCK KNOCK I could of had a V8??

Thanks for helping me out. Like I said I should have at least from even what I have seen that it would be really hard to get an actual temp.

ps. I will take it to the MOD section and ask but now that I think about it I will at least have to reword my question.

Peace!!

I thought you lived in North Aukland (N/A).

LOL! I used to have my location listed but when I went to remove it it wouldn't let me make it blank (or with just a space). I put n/a in because that's what a lot of "profile" entries default to and I thought location did too.

North Aukland? Really? The south side is SO much better!
