What is the standard size battery used in a Mechanical Mod?

I guess you could use any size battery you wanted in your mechanical mod as long as you had the correct size tube for the battery, but I just wanted to know ...

What seems to be the 'normal' size battery that most people use? 18500 or 18650?

18650 tends to be the most popular because of higher amp limitations, and bigger capacity. But I have a couple 350's and 490's around.

I'd bet on 18650s but there is a case for 18500 because then you can use a Kick on top of it for a 'best of both worlds' kind of arrangement.

All my mechs will take 18650s.

I'd say the entire 18k series is the "norm" with 650 leading the way.

I'll bet that Caravela takes a 650.

Personally I prefer the 18650 due to longer vape time and a generally higher amp limit.

My Nemesis has extension tubes for 18350, 18490/500, and 18650, plus a Kick ring for use with all three. I rarely use anything other than an 18650 (plus Kick2) since I have huge hands and prefer the battery life of the longer battery.

I use sub ohm gennys and RDAs mostly, so I rarely use 18350s. I like the form factor of 18490s; but the battery life is obviously not as long as 18650s. So, it depends where I am, and how convenient it is to change batteries or carry extras.

I love how my mods look in 350 so I'm mostly 350. They're easy to tuck into a pocket and bring around and it doesn't look like a whomping stick.

I personally have a variety of batteries laying around (18650, 500, and 350) but I find the 18500 and 350's just sit in a case in my room and the 18650's are always in my mods. They are usually the best bet because of the longer battery life and higher constant amperage rating so if you plan on going sub ohm eventually you will be happy you bought those early on. Just make sure you buy ones with a high amperage rating like the mnke 18650 1500 mah or the sony 30 amps.
