Well that’s because it won’t work. Kanthal barely changes resistance at all with heat. So arguably less I think.I know this is late, but I thought you were not suppose to use kanthal for tc.
Assuming the question is which of the three standard TC metals is the worst I put my money on Ni80. Not only can it not be dryburned or used for more than one wick safely, but something like 1/3rd of human kind is allergic to it.
Ti comes in second because while it’s good for only one use it has food flavor.
SS316L is arguably the best because not only can you dry burn it (carefully) but it can be used in wattage mode as well. The only issue it has is some claim to prefer the flavor of one of the other metals.
For what it’s worth the solution for this problem turned out to be a profile with SS mesh, or .3x.3 square sectional wire wrapped 10 coils @ 6.5mm for around 2.3ohm, with a whole piece of rayon for a wick and vapes around 20w.
Acts basically like a mesh, but eats battery faster because of the high total voltage.
