well i think it will work well with a 1.5 ohm maybe a 1.5ohm dual coil. just the t3 being 2.4 ohm aint going to be so hot. Though like i said the AA's are 2500mah so they could be needing charged who knows. but 2500 mah is as good as a 14500 battery.

2.8V with 2.4ohm is 3.3 watts

5V with 2.4 ohms would be 10 watts

popped in some energizer AA's they are they 2500mah rechargeables
This is your problem, those only put out half the power of the batts it's meant for. It's set up to run 7.4v (3.7x2) through a resistor to bring the output down to 5. You're trying to run 3v through the same resistor. No wonder it won't fire
