What is throat hit to you?
Okay I will explain my question:

Since I have started vaping two months ago, I have noticed there are many different types of throat hit.
So what is it to you?
1. The burning of hot vapor (usually only with high volt vaping but possible with 3.7)

2. The tingling in the back of the throat AFTER inhaling

3. Just being able to feel that you're inhaling vapor vs. air and feeling it in your lungs

4. The sting of the nicotine/flavor

5. That reckless painful kick that makes you think "man that hurt but it was grreat!

#2, I think ?

I can definitively tell the difference between a strong and weak throat hit, but I can't easily express in words what it is or what it feels like. I didn't ever really get a throat hit from cigarettes, maybe mildly on the first few drags of the morning

but a good drag on a e-cig gives a little rush, an instant of "something" minutely pleasant. like a little spasm or twinge.. you can feel it in the back of your throat, or even in your upper lungs if you take the drag/inhale correctly. I find vaping for me is chasing that throat hit.. its unfortunately quite addictive

2-4, I guess. I've always found "throat hit" to be kind of a strange expression, and one I can't say as I had ever heard used in connection with tobacco smoking. Strictly speaking, I guess 2 & 4 make up classic "throat hit." But I tend to like to lump in the sensation in the lungs (i.e., 3), if only because there doesn't seem to be a commonly used expression for that.

I thought I was the only one that didn't get a throat hit from cigarettes! Not even marb reds or newports or cheap brands! They put so many chemicals in to make it smooth so I think that's why there isn't much throat hit. If we rolled our own without filters or if you just ripped the filter off I think we would get more of a throat hit

Yeah I'd never heard the term throat hit used among my smoking crowd

Interesting, maybe you should do a poll. I am probably the only person on here that doesn't like a TH. I cough with a little chuck. I did get the TH from smoking and I coughed so much in the mornings, the main reason I wanted to quit smoking.

Strange that we are all so different, I guess.

I'd love to do a poll. About 5 hours after making this thread I realized I should have put it in the polls section but if I do that now they'll give me an infraction or ban me for making multiple threads on the same subject.

the only time I got a throat hit from a cigarette was when I had pneumonia for a couple weeks and didn't go to a doctor or anything.. I couldn't inhale a drag off a cig without coughing madly for half a minute per drag. I could take little baby drags without coughing much and it was giving me a wicked "lung" hit which feels like what I now get from a good e-cig drag, though more centered to upper lungs and throat
