Thanks for the comments. I think I may now understand a little more why my taste was failing, thanks to Maast. First off, I usually try to drink caffeine free diets except for first thing in the morning. Got to have some caffeine lol. I have increased my intake of water from none to two 20 ounce glasses a day which may in fact not be enough but again, I do not feel like I am dehydrated at all, at least not enough that is readily noticeable. I do understand that I need more water and less soda, but thats going to be a fighting battle for me. Heck, it was pretty hard to switch from normal sodas to diet sodas, so I will work on that more.
However, Maast mentioned something that I think may have caused my issues. I did on several occasions get some juice in my mouth and thinking back on it, that is when it started to lose flavor. I am betting that is what did it this time. Even this morning, it was still weaker than normal but around lunch time I got a bunch of my DIY stuff in. I ended up making a pineapple mix 60%VG 40%PG. This was just a test and I made a 2.5ml sample of it. That was 1ml 48mg nic juice (50/50 pg/vg). 1ml of VG and .5ml of pg. Then just 2 drops of PA pineapple. That has been very tasty and I have been vaping it for several hours now with no degradation of flavor. Absolutely insane amount of vapor from that haha. Surprisingly not only no loss of flavor but I have vaped like 3-4 carts full of it back to back with no flavor loss.

So I believe I must have did it to myself by overloading my carts and getting some juice in my mouth.

It does make your mouth numb!! It's almost like a novacaine effect when I get a drop on my tongue. Is it the nicotine that cuases the numbing? If so, I wonder if lower nicotine means more flavor?

Well, to be honest, I thought I only got it on my lips at the time. Since I was able to taste it, I guess I got more than I thought and it just killed my taste buds. This evening I have tried a few different flavors and have tasted them all so luckily its a temporary effect but man I absolutely hate it when you can't taste the flavors. And whats odd is that everything else I drink or eat tastes perfectly fine, its just the vapor of the different flavors that are tasteless. That's what is so odd about it.

yeah, it is odd. I wish we had a definitive answer on these types of things.

Most say, get more water, and stuff. But, extra water didnt do anything for me as i didnt take any extra. It just kind of came back on its own. But throughout the experience, everything else tasted like normal. I actually started to think my PV, or my fluid, was messed up.

Heh, to add another wrinkle, I've been chain vaping FSUSA's French Toast all day (man that stuff is good) and no flavor loss by 10PM.

My usual all day vape is RY4 and/or Wyatt Earp and I always seem to get taste-numb by the end of the day on that. Now I wonder if its something inherent to RY4 or tobacco blends. I tend to overfill my carts and get "wet" vapes though.

Going to try an experiment tomorrow and vape only RY4 but only fill my carts 3/4 full to avoid any fluid in my mouth - I'll only put in 20 drips instead of the full 28ish (its a 510 mega atty and carts) that I usually put in. I'll find and post in this thread the results.

For me when I go taste-numb everything tastes vaguely like mineral water, no matter what I switch to.

Well, I have my results; I didnt lose any taste at all, it must be the "wet" bubbling vaping I've been doing. In addition I kept the vapor stream from directly hitting my tongue; instead I had it hit the roof of my mouth.

I've been over filling my carts just a bit to get the maximum amount of juice in there, evidently thats a mistake.

Almost no flavor loss over the day of chain vaping. I lost a little when I put in a fresh cart at 3pm and my vaping was a little bubbly for the first half hour, but I took a half hour vaping break and the flavor came all the way back.

I have been vaping for a little over 10 months (I cant believe I quit smoking btw) and Im addicted to diet pepsi (will resort to diet coke when it is not available lol). Anyway since the very begining, I always vape with a drink readily available because after a while the flavor is not as good as the first couple of draws in the session. So I would take a few draws and just have a small sip of soda to kinda clear the palette a bit and bring the flavor back... Still do it and doing it as I type this...

Remember that some freshly made juices needs to sit and stay a while so you can get the full benefits of its flavor. Even the ones you order pre-mixed.

Sour flavors seem to never fade on me though.. such as sour cherry, sour green apple, raspberry & blue berry... Peach will always be there also... It really depends on the juice for me. You should try doubling up on the flavorings and see how that goes also..
