I keep getting that disgusting taste the atty gives off from these cartomizers I bought! they're great cartos otherwise, but I just don't get why they keep giving off that nasty metallic taste that makes me cough! a description of the cartos insides:

hard caps, when you open them there's a clear, thin rubber ring sitting above the cotton, and when you take the cotton out there appears to be 2 layers: one smaller one that wraps directly around the tube, and one regular sized one. take the tube out and there's a coil under that, directly above the hole at the battery end. has anybody used these before and if so what's the best way to get the taste out of them? I even tried boiling one! I want to keep using these as I do not like v4l's cartos; the wows burn out way too fast and the premiums make virtually no vapor at all.

It sounds like they might be a horizontal coils carto? What kind of battery are you using with them?
They work best with the newer regulated batteries, to high of voltage will give them a burnt taste.

regular v4l batteries. the guy said my batts should have the exact same voltage as his.

Where are the carto's from?
A non regulated 808 battery comes off the charger at around 4.2 volts then drops to a lower voltage with use, the regulated keeps it at around 3.7 volts.
If the carto's are a horizontal coil then the V4L batteries might be a little to strong for them.

so v4l's batteries have a higher voltage than generic 808's? because this guy sells generic 808's. should I just get one from him? if I do that will a generic 808 have any problems on a v4l charger?

Generic kr808's come in at 4.2 at start, drop quickly to 3.7v and lower with use Sqirl sir. V4l batts (especially the king diamond and stealth series) hold above 3.7v longer than most. It does sound like a horizontal coil to me as well, which is what bloog, si, halo, etc. use. All of them come in at a regulated 3.6v.

on that note, I just ordered a bloog! think those cartos I tried to vape before are toast or do you think they'll be fine once I use them on my bloog?

They should work Sqirl sir, the horizontal coils biggest asset is also their detriment. With the coil being wrapped in such a small area, and below the filler they're almost impossible to burn. Because of that much heat being trapped in that small area they are prone to burning the juice at higher voltage, or muting the flavor.

I've always been a little fuzzy on what horizontal coil really meant, but I think it looks something like this . . .

Supposedly the filler won't burn so easy, but I don't know about the metal taste you're getting. A long time ago I ran into that too when trying a friend's ecig, but haven't tasted that since.
