initial goal was to give up analogs so i could quit wheezing and hacking up black and green stuff. thats going good, now im trying to lower my nic over the next year to zero so i can be chemically dependent on nothing, although i do plan on vaping 0 nic for as long as i feel like cause i love the flavor i found.

Very Good Question ! I dont think "Nicotine" was the reason I wanted off analogs..it was the other 4000 carcinagins that bothered me !!

Im a newb on 24mg nic for a month now without analogs. I feel great !
I have 30ml of zero nic pg for use in a project (not my idea but a very good one from member "Spider362")

I really liked this idea so I bought the zero nic but, havent used it yet cause...well, im just lazy and feel im doing good for now, but the plan will include a reduction somewhere down the road.

PS. Not sure about the McCormick's idea till I look into that further...

not a bad idea :) or even if you just carried around 4mg and 18mg or something like that

Smoked for 38+ years, and after so many attempts to quit, I accepted it was my cross to bear. I also realized that I was addicted not just to the nicotine and multiple chemicals from the cigarettes, but to the ritual and ceremony of smoking.

When my boss bought e-cigs for himself and the rest of us to try I politely accepted, telling him I wasn’t quitting, but would be happy to give the e-cigs a place at the table. To my utter amazement I found myself vaping more and smoking less over a two month period, until I realized I had actually skipped cigarettes completely. The e-cigs continue to fulfill the rituals I have always found relaxing, and over time I came to prefer the fresher, cleaner taste so that I have finally given up cigarettes completely without even trying, and without the mental pain and anguish that had always accompanied those many planned efforts to quit. Truly one of the best gifts I’ve ever received.

I just want to get permanently off cigarettes. I like nicotine and I like vaping, I don't really see why I'd want to quit it anymore than I see why I'd want to quit caffeine. Only reason I wanted off the cigarettes was the long term health risks and the cost. Though on the latter I can see myself spending absurd amounts of cash on vaping..

My goal was to quit smoking. I did that 9 months ago.
I'm still vaping 24 mg, so I's like to start cutting back on that.
I'm in no rush, though.
Nicotine helps a medical condition that I have, so maybe I will continue to do it therapeutically.

Just what kind of medical condition do you have that needs nicotine? And isn't there anything else that you can replace it like cafeine or theine (from tea)?

nicotine has been shown to help in various mental disorders...whether this is what the person ws talking about or not..i dont think it is right to ask him/her to disclose personal mdical information....but nicotine does have an array of effects on the mind and body and one of them affects serotinin, dopamine, and other nuerotransmitters that have depressant/stimulatory effects on the body...do i can see whre it coul possibly help with ADD/ADHD an possibly others OCD? bipolar?

I know everyone has their own reasons for doing stuff...We all share the same means to a different end. Some want to get completely off nicotine...some just want a substitute...some want to just smoke LESS...some end up vaping MORE...We all have vaping in common and i think it would be interesting to see where everyone sees vaping taking them!!!

Il go first :) At first i bought it not knowing if it was going to work...just like the gum, lozenges, patch, and meds...so i wasnt sure what to expect...but after a week i was completely off regular cigs and I was so happy with my vapor...Within the next year or so i see myself getting down to a low dose liquid, something like 6-8mg/ml and just staying there comfortably...I dont know if i ever really want to get down to 0 nicotine liquid but then again im only 24 so maybe down the road i might change my mind!!

Where do you see your self in 1 year? 5 years? 10 years?
Can't answer were I'll be in 1 5 or 10 years, however, I do know I like the present time vaping mostly 6 mg and 0 nic, seems to do me fine.
The best part of vaping is in the taste.

My Goal is already accomplished.

I liked smoking cigarettes. That's why I somked them...duh...
I did not like killing myself with them.

Vaping accomplished my goal of "smoking" without the crap that comes from burning tobacco.

NOW, I like Vaping. Perfectly content with it, no intention to stop whatsoever.
If I'm addicted to nicotine, so be it.
I think the worst thing about nicotine is that it's addictive.
Other than that, it's comperable (probalby slightly worse) than caffine. No biggie.

The whole reason I bought the e-cig was so that I could stop smoking in the house. So far the hubby and I are not smoking in the house.

The first 5 days or so of using the pv, I didn't smoke a cig. Than the Friday hit and I was so happy to be off of work for a couple of days and got home and had a cig outside. I didn't feel bad about it cause I didn't smoke inside and hey, I like smoking :D ATM, I am smoking 1 cig a day. I imagine that will stop once it starts to get cold outside. I guess my long term goal is to stop smoking completely. I figure I am in no rush to get there. If it turns out I just occasionally have a cigarette that is fine.

TRUE..nicotine is similar in its effects to caffeine but it is also more addicting and slightly more detrimental to one's health...but as you said....and i agree...if the worst thing is the nicotine addiction...i can live with that...especially if it is just a small amount per day :)
