Mixing is not Steeping. But you do need to mix to get to the steeping stage.
For me, it's a quick shake at least once a day, opening the bottle to let it "breathe" for a bit, and letting it set for a couple of weeks.

^ This! After mixing I let breathe for a few hours, then cap. 3-4 times a day for the first week or so I take the cap off and "squeeze out the bad air and suck in the good air" recap shake vigorously. After the first week I stick it in a drawer and forget about it for a couple of weeks. Done!

I use a 5% to 10% seed of OLD mix and add it to the new. It might be all in my head, but it seems to speed up the "steep".
YMMV
I

I seed steep all the time and it's not in your head it does really work. What usually takes 4 - 5 weeks can steep in 3 days when seed steeping.

+1 on seed steeping. What a time saver. Also a warm water bath or an ultrasonic cleaner can speed up the steeping process. I try to mix well in advance. If I get ahead of my consumption rate, then a two week steep in a cool dark place works wonders. For those mixed with flavorings that have alcohol in them, leaving them uncapped for a few hours at first really helps.

I make 100mls at a time of my tobacs. I also seed my mixes with @10% seed mix. I also use a magnetic mixer but really don't know if it speeds up steeping since I let my tobacs sit at least a month before I vape them anyways. I let my initial mix mix for a couple hours without nic as fast as the mixer will mix without throwing the stirbar out of sync, let it sit overnight to dissipate the air bubbles then add the nic and mix it much slower not to add extra air for about a hour, cap it then set away and not touch it.

Now I feel like such an amateur....I just throw it all in a bottle and shake the crap out it. Let it sit w/o the cap on for a couple hours, cap it and let it sit a week or two. LOL

Actually, I bet your method is as good as it gets for mixing, nice extra touch with the pre-nic cycle.

Seed steeping has done wonders for me as well. My particular tobacco flavor takes at least 4 weeks to develop by itself. Seeding has cut that time to at least a third. Air by itself is also a great help in steeping. To help things along, I use a milk frother to shake things up a few times. It always helps if you mix in an extra large bottle that leaves plenty of some air room at the top.

I really don't understand why people let there mixes sit uncapped as a standard part of there mixing process. The only real reason to do that is if the mixture contains alcohol or you want to air off undesired chemical taste. Leaving it uncapped can actually do more harm then good by letting volatile flavor molecules escape resulting in reduced taste.

It is not a good idea to leave your caps off for a long time, but flavor molecules definitely need some air to fully develop. Filling your bottle to the very top will cut off that needed air supply.

First day I mix up a juice(480mls at a time), I shake the bottle just once really good and let it sit for 24h uncapped. Next day, before replacing the cap I squeeze all the air out of the bottle. From there I place the bottle in a warming blanket for about an hour. After the warming session, I open the bottle and allow air back into it then recap it. Shake it really good around 8 times thru ought the rest of the night, making sure to squeeze the air in/out of the bottle after it sits between shakes.

The way I see it, that's all that's needed to evaporate off any alcohol from the flavorings and pre kick the steeping process inplace.

Oh, i thought you were talking about a stir plate

No I just give it a good shake several times during the UC steeping process and that's about it. But lately I've just been using a crock pot to steep. When time is not a factor I just let it steep naturally letting time do the work. I've Also been doing a lot of quick shake and vape mixes.
