When you say inside connector, do you mean the wires? I just stripped an ethernet cable and used those. I am using the exact same items d_struct is using. Like I mentioned in a previous post, I do not have the battery adapter mounted in the device currently. I just have the two wires coming out of the top of the battery and soldered to the battery adapter.

Should I be worried? I just killed an atomizer with this beast. Of course i have spares and I was using a beat up old one so should I mark this down to just bad timing? I also killed one earlier when I was initially putting this together in one of my various tests but I attributed that to some crossed wires and stuff...

I haven't been having any issues with the new atomizer I've been using.

Were they older atomizers? Brand new?

Remember, this is the same setup and voltage as Madog's Magnum, and he was reporting great life on his.

They were old ones that had been used an abused in my other mods for a good few weeks each. I guess I'll shove a new atomizer in it when I get home and hope for the best!

Let me know how things go.

I don't want there to be some sort of design issue that's messing up people's atomizers.

If you have something happen quickly, I'll certainly put a disclaimer in the instructions.

If something happens to the new one I'm using, I'll put one up, anyway.

No, I mean the actual physical connection where you screw the attomizer to the battery connector. Whatever you are using, brass screw, brass tubing etc. must be large enough to contact the inner part of the attomizer connection yet, small enough not to interfere with the outside (-) contact of the threads. It also may not be up high enough. (The inside contact.) That may have been the reason for its intermittent working. I have found that if the attomiser bottoms out on the connector the about 1mm below that is good for the (+) contact.

I am using the battery connector from an old penstyle battery that I removed. The atomizer and battery adapter are the same size from what I can tell.

Well, Frubbish, I'm a little stumped, to be honest.

It's so hard to figure things out when they're not in front of you.

I'll toss this out there...

If you'd like to shoot it my way, I would be happy to give it a once over and figure out the issue at hand. I understand if you'd rather keep plugging at it, though. It's always nice to figure out things for yourself.

I just wanted to extend the offer. I'd be happy to do it.

Thanks man, I appreciate the offer. I think what I am going to do, is run back over to harbor freight and grab another flashlight and start a new one from scratch and see if I run into the same problem. If I do, I may have to take you up on the offer!

I really am not sure what else there is to do, or what is missing. What's bugging me is that everything looks perfect(with multimeter) when the atomizer is not screwed on. It's so strange...

Well, just know that the offer still stands. I'd be happy to help.

I really don't know what the problem could possibly be, but I'm sure it's something that's just staring you in the face. It always seems to work out like that. lol

One thing I wanted to get an answer to before I get too far ahead of myself, that I asked in a previous post:

are batteries labelled 'CR2' all going to be 800mah? And if not, would more or less be an issue? The CR2 batteries I bought at target did not list the mah.

From my understanding, they should be 800mAh or above.

The Ultrafire rechargeables I have from Deal Extreme are labeled 3.0v 800 mAh.

I originally used a series of Energizer cr2 batteries from Walgreens (the silver and light blue ones).

The mAh rating has to do with how much vaping you can do between recharges/changes. It does not affect performance.

CR2 batteries that you buy at most retail locations in the US are most likely primary, or single use, cells. That means they are NOT rechargeable. They should still be around 3 or 3.6volts, so they should still work just fine - they would just be expensive to keep replaceing.

All the CR2 batteries I have seen ratings for were in the ballpark of 880 mAh.
