The reality is that we cannot control people. These devices exist, and people will use them how they want. I think it's great that smokers of tobacco can quit cigarettes, and I want the same for people who smoke other things. That is just my opinion. I don't worry too much about what the general public thinks. I don't agree with the general American public on most things. I want vaping to be seen in a positive light as well, but I don't think pretending ecigs can't be used for other substances will help. Vaporizers vape lots of stuff. And they can help lots of people.

Again, your personal opinions and I respect them. However unfortunate, we as vapers have to be a bit concerned about how the general public perceives vaping. Remember what happened to cigarettes? Remember how it was perceived as "cool" to smoke in the 50's and 60's? Then what happened when the perception changed? It was banned every place. Even in outdoor stadiums and arenas. Now I'm not comparing the two. Smoking will kill you, vaping won't. Well, as far as we know anyway. :) I'm just making a point about perception. I don't agree with the general public on a lot of things either but we are the minority in an very judgmental, uneducated world. Hopefully, in the near future, informing folks on the positive aspects of vaping will change that. But for now we could use all the positive reinforcement we can get.

Ever see the movie "Gladiator"? Remember "Win the crowd, win your freedom"? ;)

No I don't remember the 50s and 60s. I wasn't around. And I don't think cigarettes being perceived as cool or not cool is what made people ban them in public spaces. It was the fact that second hand smoke damages others who didn't make the choice to smoke. And I am fine with that. I voted for the restaurant ban in my state even though I was a smoker at the time. And if e-cigs are found to damage others in a similar way, I would support the same thing for them. But hopefully it is found that vaping is a safe choice for us as well as those around us.

And as far as public perception goes, I could care less. The majority of people in this country think gays shouldn't be allowed to marry. They are wrong, and I will fight against it. The same way I fight any negative perceptions of ecigs. Some people choose to use ecigs for purposes other than nicotine. We don't all do that. There is a difference. And we should highlight that difference. The same way that pipes can be used for tobacco and other things, but you don't automatically assume every old guy with a pipe is using it for illicit purposes.

We're both trying to get to the same destination but on different trains. It's all good though. :) I think we can both agree that education is the key.

EDIT: Oh..and just for the record, I wasn't around in the 50's and 60's either. ;)

I'm not sure we are trying to get the same destination, not that it really matters. I'm all for using vaporizers for whatever you want, and I don't care one bit what the general public thinks about it. But I do agree that education can help. But so can publicity. Even from Snoop.

Why do us "normal" people put so much stock in what "celebrities" are doing? If I was caught doing half the stuff Snoop did, I would have been locked up a long time ago for a very long time. But because he can "sing" (or "rap") he gets a slap on the wrist and people love him for it. Sounds like another group of untouchables that run things their way. In a place with the initials DC.

It is tongue in cheek, true and sad at the same time. I may be cynical but I can't stand to see people who sing, act, play sports, etc. making more money than the people who educate our children. I have no time for it and you can blame my father for that. I was taught the value of hard work and doing the right thing.

How many celebrities get by with so many crimes just because of who they are? I find it disturbing but apparently most of America is cool with it. C'est la vie.
