Ok here is my story and im sticking to it . I stopped smoking analogs May 8 and was strictly vaping .. well on July 1 almost 2 months of not smoking analog cigs we moved to a new place the move was very stressful .. I couldn't find my charger, my batteries went dead , atomizer went out everything excuse in the world fell on me and I blew it.. yep went back to smoking analogs after almost two months I let myself down . well we are all moved in now and im back weaning myself off of analogs been only having 3 or 4 a day now for the past few days .. I'm telling you I love the e cigs but when your really stressed and all your options or batteries in my case are dead I blew it .. I really really feel bad did anyone else fall off the wagon all I'm hearing is success stories and no falling off the wagon stories.

I feel ya on the moving thing. It sucked. Sounds like you have a similar problem to me: Sometimes being unprepared. I think it's a matter of making sure you always have enough kit available, or alternatives. I told myself if I can always have power and internet access(even when I'm occasionally in rural Oklahoma!) for work, I can make sure I always have charged bats and some ejuice for my PV.

What annoys me is that I don't even enjoy analogs anymore, but I still have gone back to them-****ty taste and all.

Oh I almost forgot when I have a analog now I get like a bad head rush or funny feeling I so hate that feeling and tell myself each time I'm not going to do that again I fail and do it again ,. that feeling is what made me quit analogs altogether to begin with once I started vaping .. I vape allot at night during the day it seems I'm to busy to do that , I did get a friend of mine to start vaping and he is a three pack a day smoker the generic menthol ones I showed him how to use it and with in a hour his battery was dead when he went home thank goodness he had a spare lol. I had him sit with me in my kitchen and vape for about 20 minutes and then we went outside and had him smoke one of his cigs he said it taste like cardboard lol. that what I think they taste like anyone else think so ?

My story - 1.5 pack a day smoker for 30 years. My girlfriend doesn't smoke, so I don't smoke indoors or in the car. I ran across an ad for one or another of the e-cigs on a blog site, and thought it looked interesting.

I started doing some research, which led me here and to my purchase of a 510. It arrived on 30 June, and I haven't picked up a cigarette since. I'm rather surprised by that, but I think a lot of it is knowing that vaping is so much healthier for me in comparison. I'm not going to say it's all butterflies and puppies, because the last couple days the urge to smoke an analog has gotten worse...but I'm determined to stick it out - and look forward to the surprise on my girlfriend's face when I *DON'T* run outside for a smoke as soon as I land at the airport (I work overseas and only get home a couple times a year for vacation).

The first thing I noticed is that after 2-3 day of my 510 analogs taste terrible. They also gave me a headache, but this still wasn't enough to make me quit.

I have been using E.F.T. Emotional Freedom Techniques ( a needle less form of accupuncture ) for various physical and emotional issues. EFT or Tapping as it is better known can really help a person change unwanted thoughts and relieve physical pains.

I started Tapping on "Even though I want a real cigarette...." after two day of tapping on and off I am over analogs.. It is amazing to me.

EFT is free to learn at EFT Home - World Center for EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)

Here is how you do it- Everyone Please try this on anything that is bothering you, it will help.

PS
I would love to hear anyones result using EFT. I know it works even though it seems like the strangest thing in the world.

Wow, it's really cool to hear that EFT is working for you. I was interested in EFT, and even got a book out from the library called Energy Tapping, but unfortunately I never followed through. I guess my doubts about its effectiveness got in the way of my actually trying it out. But now that I've heard your story, I'm really considering going back to it, and seeing if it will work for me.

You made a great first step moving to vaping and hopefully the rest will just happen naturally for you. Be proud of the step forward you have made! :thumb:

Thanks, shivadance. I have cut my analogue intake in half, so I guess I should feel good about that. I keep telling myself -- be patient, be patient...

You got it! And don't forget to throw in the 'positive' side as well, "Vaping is better for me, I feel better afterward then when I have a ciggy," and "Wow, vaping sure tastes a lot better than that last analog I had!"

Not to sound like a nut or anything, but the mind is powerful and power of positive thinking is not to be underestimated!

I'm with you, the mind is a powerful thing. I figure, if I can think differently about analogues and PVs, I will in turn act differently, and eventually stop smoking analogues.

But I promised my Grand daughter that I would quit again, I actually promised her that I would not smoke a analog infront of her again even though I go outside . I refuse to smoke a analog in my new place , my old place smells of smoke even with all the cleaning I did when we moved out it just gets in everything.. please let me hear of others and that I'm not the only weak one(as I feel not meaning anyone that has fallen off the wagon is one just me) out here.. :(

Toni, don't beat up on yourself too badly! You went without analogues for almost 2 months, and you can do it again. Just learn from what went wrong, and move forward. I'm still smoking analogues, so I'm not even ON the wagon yet, forget falling off ;) Good luck to you.

I swear, this is the damndest habit. Preparing for a long trip out of the country, we're a bit stressed out on the home front. Suddenly I'm finding myself increasingly stressed at work with new, unexpected tasks that are going to make me crazy right up to the moment I leave for vacation.

With the stress mounting -- and despite the fact that I must be getting plenty enough nicotine from the e-cigs -- I find myself wanting to smoke cigarettes more often, and to do it without using the anti-tar filters I'd promised myself I would use religiously while I'm not totally done smoking regular cigarettes. Baffling. What could be in cigarette smoke that would be such a big draw -- uh, as it were -- despite nic cravings being dealt with via e-cigs? (Maybe I should temporarily increase the nicotine dosage via more nicotine-heavy juice, but there's no time now to order more of it.)

New Orleans, La
Tonigurt…after my second child was born, I was very careful about having several backup pacifiers because I learned that one, or even three pacifiers were not a good idea. (ahh, learning from past mistakes...dang…ya think I would be smarter by now!)

Most of us have learned the hard way that we need several backups for our e-cig pacifiers. My family questions why I have three different sets/models of e-cigs and why so many batteries/attys/carts/liquid…. and why I walk around the house with three e-cigs in my hand---cause I do not want to go back to smoking! It has become an all-embracing phobia. (They are proud of me.)

After a very stressful event, I went to the casino (penny slots!) to chill out with only two e-cigs…batteries died…bought a pack of analogs for $10.00 and smoked them. Not only did I feel like I was a totally unprepared failure …I physically felt horrible. My body was not pleased with what I was doing.

Well the positive/negative reinforcements techniques worked very well with this experience.

Good luck, we have all had experienced “bumps in road” to our ultimate quest to quit smoking analogs…those damned things.

I have been off analogs almost a week now. I wanted to wean off the analogs and have for the most part because I have houseguests. Vaping in and outside the house is pleasant for everyone because I'm not creating any odor. In fact my friends and neighbors don't mind sitting next to me, because they smell coffee or vanilla, and neither offends them. I have been vaping 8mg juice, as far as I can tell, no nic overdose effects and I have been vaping a lot. I've gone through 4 batts and 3 carts with drip topping off on avg a day. Thank goodness for the PCC. I still have 3 packs of analogs, and I'm on the fence about getting rid of them. I do miss that first puff of the day sensation, and I think I will order some stronger nic juice for that morning vape. I am totally loving the coffee and vanilla flavors.

I was headed out to see my daughter & family. They hate the smell so I got an e cig for them. I probably would've done the analogs and e cig both continious but I left the analogs home and when I got back, I never have been inclined to smoke one. That's saying something since I got four cartons of them in the freezer. Had five but sold one to a person that won't take the big step. Since this person is being so stubborn, I'll probably get rid of them all.
The original carts had nicotine in them. Since I starter refilling there is non. Even when ordering more equipment, I get the 0 nic cartridges. I guess I just like the motion and the inhaling and exhaling thing.

Sometimes the chemical addiction has us, and sometimes it's just the psychological urge...

When I first started, I just picked up my e-cig (started with a 901, have a 510 on the way) and vaped. Though it helped most of the time, I'd end up using analogs from time to time, especially after meals!

Lately, I've been going to my usual smoking spot outside, bringing the ash tray and a drink with me (just as I would if I was smoking an analog), and even tapping the "ash" off my 901 with my finger, just as I would with an analog. Yes, it sounds stupid. Somehow, it worked!

Although I do pick them up occasionally, I went from smoking 2 packs a day (10 year smoker) to one or two, and most of the time I don't even take more than a few drags before I'm putting them out. They just don't taste good anymore.

If even the 36mg isn't helping, it might just be the habit. Try following all the same "rituals" you did when you smoked analogs. It's possible your body is having more trouble breaking the physical habit than the addiction!

Thanks, happily, I was starting to think I was a little nuts :p I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who vapes in the same place I used to smoke in order to help kill the cravings!
