As an owner of 2 Provaris I have to say that I love them, for all the reasons you have already read about.

I jumped straight from ego twists to the Provari. Bought a used one off Craigslist, then a month later bought a custom polished one off the classifieds

I suggest you get the mini. It is really smaller than you think it is. I have mine with the extension cap and use the 18490 batteries. They last a long long time.

You won't ever regret getting a Provari.

Good luck!

I really wanna make an educated decision though, I know there's a lot of provari fans here and I get why, from everything I've heard and read, it's a great device. However, it'll probably literally take me months to save this amount of money and the fact that the Lavatube is about 40 bucks cheaper is a huge draw. And I've read enough to know that it as well is a great device. So are there any current or former Lavatube owners out there who can weigh in?

Since money is the issue, the Lava Tube will be an upgrade over your 900 mAh Egos. You'll likely not think about the Provari you could have saved for unless the Lava Tube stops working or breaks. If it happens to be out of warranty, you'll be shopping for another mod real fast as they can not be repaired.

The Provari is not only a great durable and dependable mod, but in the unlikelihood should it need repair, it comes with a 1 year warranty. Even after the warranty expires, the manufacturer will service it for very reasonable fees for as long as you own it. The entire process typically takes less than a week.

After Warranty Standard Service Repair Costs:

Replace Window and screws- $10.00
Replace Circuit Board - $65.00
Upgrade to V2 - $20.00
Replace plastic pushbutton - $5.00
Repairs to the circuit board - $25.00
Cleaning - $20.00
Replace top cap - $15.00
Broken Cartomizer Service - $10.00
Return shipping within the USA - $5.00

I look at owning a Provari similar to an investment in a high quality power tool. Sure, you can get by with Harbor Freight quality (Lava Tube) or you can pay more for DeWalt or Milwaukee quality (Provari) which will take abuse and last years under hard usage.

You are paying more for a Provari because of higher quality parts and construction, USA made parts and assembly, attention to detail, a longer warranty, lifetime customer service, and the ability to have it repaired quickly for inexpensive cost. Is that additional money worth it to you? Only you can answer that.

If the $40 is such a big issue, search for used ones.
Both of mine are used.
I got a great deal on the 1st on I found on Craigslist.
$150 for the Provari, a charger, a battery, a Protank2 and some eliquid.
The Provari works great to this day.

Good deals can be found here at ECF, Craigslist, eBay, Etc.

If there's only a $40 difference, the LavaTube is way overpriced. When I was at your stage, there were so many things I needed, juice, toppers, mods, etc. I handled it by investing moderate amounts in each of the areas rather than a big amount in one. I bought a EVic which broke inside a week and the VAMOS which are still running. So, are there other things which would help that you could use instead of the ProVari?

Thanks for all the advice guys! Looks like I'll be saving for just a little longer to go with the provari! Mini, probably, I've got small hands! Now the only choice is what color! Lol

You may want to check out the pics in the Provari subforum. The mini is likely a lot smaller than you think, but also may be the perfect size that you're looking for. There's always the extension cap available which will double or triple your time between charges & still be a tad smaller than the regular sized one. Obviously only you can decide what you like best, but there's a ton of pics over there, with other objects in the photo for comparison.

I'm not saying to not get a Provari. The way this industry is heading, I will be getting one sooner than later.

But that doesn't mean you have to have a crappy vape while you save.

Two options which may help to pass the time.

Itaste vv3. 800 mAh VV/VW. This is a great on the go battery. Same eGo form factor and USB passthrough. I can vape at work with it plugged in and have a fresh charge when I leave.

MVP2. 2600 mAH VV/VW. This battery will last for days. It is a box mod and somewhat bulkier. It also has USB passthrough so you can vape while it charges. I also has USB ports on the bottom so it can charge your cell phone in case of emergency.

These have non-replaceable batteries, so they will eventually wear out, but at $30.00 for the vv3 and $42.00 for the MVP 2, it can make the saving up for a Provari, that much more pleasant.

iTaste VV3: Itaste VV 3 0 Starter Express Kit Authentic Guranteed The Latest wth More Rivets | eBay

MVP 2: Itaste MVP 2 0 ICLEAR30 ICLEAR16 Kit Newest Version from Innokin Free Shipping | eBay

This vendor is great. I've used them and they ship REALLY fast and sell authentic product that can be verified on the website.

Yeah but honestly, my egos aren't that bad. It's not that I'm getting a bad vape, per se, just that I know different liquids taste better at different voltages and I'm tired of unscrewing my atty and putting it on my ohm reader to test it. I'd rather have an all in one. And I looked at the vv3, but since my egos seem to be sufficient ATM, I don't see the logic in Spending any money that I could put towards a better mod. I'll just deal! :). And I tried the MVP that a friend has and I really just can't stand box mods lol. I seriously have the hands of like a 12 year old. They're just too awkward and uncomfortable for me, otherwise I'd probably go for the Reo!

But thanks for all the advice guys! By the way, donations in the form of cashiers check or money order welcome for my "Get Deb a mod" fund! Lmao

Really like the 'zombie' myself. Its probably gonna be my next one when the wife steals my new one lol!

Eh, I like the zombie, it's pretty funky and cool, but I like something more versatile to match all my tips, and I've got a plethora of them and like to switch it up. I'll probably either go for the white or the chrome!
