wonderful work as usual Para:):):)

I was wondering who did this to GG! It was really awful. But your magic hands brought it to life again. You do an amazing job buddy.:)

I also want to say that I just came back from a 3 days trip so I find the oportunity to say to all of you that Para is an exellent guy and an exellent "converterman" lol. He send me his newer creation to test it. Its the multimeter that can measure the resistance of the wires we make for Iatty and Ody. Its a very clever and simple to use device. He has post his pics in another thread but I cant find it now. You just grab with small crocodiles the 2 ends of the wire and the display shows you the resistance of the wire. It also has adapters on it to fit the atomizers and meassure very quick and easy the resistance of those atomizers. Simple and nice!!

Thank you very much Para for sending me this and for your very creative and beautiful work. And of course for sending me this handmade product. I will keep it until it brakes (I hope it will alst me for ever!.):):):)

Hey! that's mine :)

And yes i needed a wizard to clean the mess i did..

I didn't mix bleach and amonia, but bleach, and soap, and some other bleach in tablets, let is soak for 3 days (forgot it .. well)

Then soak in some .. not sure how to say that in english, some "multi purpose" cleaner
Then soak in salty water! (hey i had to try)

Then..probably some cloth cleaning powder. (well it was beyond repairs.. or so i thought)

Then para did an outstanding work, really, i have no words.

All of that started after i let rot some juice in my afs (when i got the avs) that was not pretty at all.
I had some kind of hmm "mushrooms" everywhere.. well the rest, you've just read it.

My advice, if you really going to put your gg on a shelter, clean it PERFECTLY before you do.
I didn't.

You should always be careful, or better yet, do not mix cleaning agents Blobe.

If there was by any chance some ammonia in one of those cleaners as an ingredient mixed with that bleach, it could have killed you.

That is just the chemical chain reaction that I'm aware of. There might be others just as deadly that I am ignorant of.

Don't risk it buddy :)

That was what I was thinking when I saw this post. Had some teenager do that in a store one time. Had to hold my breath and kick it out the back kitchen door. BAD...BAD...DEAL!

You both were very lucky and good that it worked out. :)

That teenager learned a lesson that day, luckily not tragically.

Looks like someone tried to clean a nickel plated GGTS with sodium hydroxide (lye)

Lye attacks aluminum and will also strip anodizing from it.

Stainless can be attacked by salt and vinegar in solution, household Bleach, Hydrochlorid acid, hydrofloric acid, ferric chloride, Lye solutions above 80 deg. C

If you feel the urge to wash it, stick to warm water & detergent

I used mild detergent to clean it and penetrating lube to dissolve the residue enough to get it apart. All eventually came loose except for the SS mouthpiece and top ring....it was FUSED. Seriously, it would not budge even with a couple of wrenches. I had to cut out the mouthpiece to save the top ring; mouthpieces are much easier to replace than are top rings.

1500 grit emery paper and 4/0 steel wool did the rest. The hardest to clean was the knurled pieces....getting down in the crevices was tricky with a Dremel and steel wire wheel. As the pictures show, the knurled pieces are oxidized so you have to get down into them to remove it; there's no other way to remove that much oxidation.

Lastly....TIME. You can do it fast or do it by hand and do it right. I know there are those that would disagree with the method; but I'll let them choose other methods and I'll stick with what experience teaches me.

The bottom tube had the most pitting, but nothing to affect operation; it hits hard like a new GGTS....the tank was in pretty good shape so it's not an issue either and the AFS was in the best shape of everything....even the wings logo looks good. About the only way a GG won't work well is if you run over it with a tank.

I did the clean up as a challenge to myself to see if I could and help someone........and don't want to do another like that. It really was a mess, but beneath all the gunk is a GG and nothing else is a GG.

Glad I could help a new friend and it's good to know another GG is back to doing what Imeo created it to do; smiles and enjoyment. It's still the only mod I like to look at as much as I like to use.
