Hey everybody! I'm a brand new convert from smoking to vaping and enjoying the vape. I started with a Joyetech eGo - not enough punch. Then an ELeaf Istick Pico - LOVE this gadget but constantly refilling juice wasn't working for me. Moved up to Joyetech Unimax25 - LOVE this baby. It's my ADV. BUTTTTTT - I vape on the DL cuz my family doesn't like it so I needed something more stealthy to carry in my pocket. So I just ordered the new smok QBox which is on preorder. I ordered it for less from a good shop on line but couldn't order new coils at the same time for it cuz it's a preorder. I like to have extra coils. I don't make my own coils or anything - I'm just getting into this so I bought some coils today from a local shop for my preorder Smok QBox. I bought 0.15 ohms cuz I'm looking for the throat hit but I'm also using 8mg nicotine and a 50/50 pg/vg. Should I have gone to a .25 coil instead? I know the .5 doesn't satisfy like a .25 that came oreinstalled on my PICO. If .25 would be better, please tell me why. Thanks so much! I use the .15 ohm coils on both my Baby Beast and Cloud Beast. I use 70 vg/30 pg and 3 mg nic. The only problem I can see is that with direct lung sub-ohm vaping, 8 mg nic might be a little too hard of a hit, especially at 50 pg. If you find it's a bit too harsh of a hit, scale back some on first the pg, then the nicotine.
I just got my first BB with an AL85, as I got my Alien without a tank (my preference). I figured I might as well check it out and used the 0.4 ohm that came preinstalled. It's a nice vape. Two things to know about it. First, it only holds 3 ml (I think it's less but didn't use a syringe to check) and it guzzles juice. Ended up refilling three times just last night, and I'm a typically 5-7 ml a day vaper even with dual Clapton builds. Second it's not at all stealthy in use. It makes a ton of cloud that's pretty hard to not miss. It's small and easy to carry (the AL85 and Alien) so no one will notice it in your pocket, but using it around other people is bound to draw some attention.

that being said, 8mg nic is going to hit pretty hard on a .15 ohm coil, but you will have to see if that is what works for you - you may want to consider stepping it down a little
also, keep in mind that throat hit is based on a number of factors, including PG level (more PG = more throat hit) and nic level
also, using lower ohm coil will - as a rule of thumb - require higher wattage and mean you will go through battery charge a bit faster, as well

Thanks for your thoughts. Yeah I know it's only 3ml. Stealthy in the pocket is all I'm looking for.
I use the .15Ω coils in my Baby Beast also but if you are looking to not fill I think you might need to look further since I can empty the 3ML tank in an hour without even trying! Great tank though!
Yeah the going through batteries quicker was something I did not consider so I think I'm gonna exchange for the .25. That'll help all the way around I think. My PICO is using .25 and the same setup I have now so I think that would help to go to.25. At least now I know why my PICO battery dies so quick!!
My baby beast also came with a .4 ohm coil, so that might work a little better if you don't want to go through juice and battery life so quick.
How old are you that you have to hide it from your family? Just curious.
HAHAHA I'll be 43 in July! My husband and everyone I know are just seriously opposed. But I like it so I have to just have something small in my pocket to go out the door for a walk. Rediculous right??!?
HAHAHAHA! I'll be 43 in July but everyone I know is against vaping and it isn't worth arguing over something I enjoy so I just keep it on the down low. On the weekends I just need a small mod to put in my pocket and take a walk. Through the week I can "free vape."
I just need it to not be noticeable when I have it in my pocket headed for my walks.

How did they feel about your smoking and did you have to hide that? I would be surprised if they did not smell it on you because as a former smoker I can smell a smoker from so far away now it is creepy.
Hid the smoking too for 14 years and managed to keep it unknown but it was a big pain and I believe this is a healthier option for someone with an oral fixation who can't chew gum. Haha no dirty jokes!
