Being fairly new I'm doing a lot of ordering of juices from different vendors. I like that many of them give me the options to pick my PG to VG ratio but am just not well versed on what a preferred ratio is so I've been ordering anywhere from 70/30 PG/VG to 50/50. I like flavorful juices with extra flavor shots sometimes so I know these are hard on my clearos. Is any one ratio easier on the clearos and poly tanks than another? I see a lot of people ordering pure VG and am wondering if you're doing this because of health concerns or maybe allergies to PG? I know we're all different in our tastes but I'm curious on what you prefer....and why? Anyone want to share?? Thanks!!

roonies,

It's all about personal taste. Here is a chart I found useful for this exact question. :)

Also, if your clearos are top-coil more PG (thinner liquid) may wick better. Bottom coil clearos can handle more VG better. Personally, I like 50/50.... It's got the best of both worlds and I use both top and bottom coil clearos when on the move and I've been dripping at home.

Yeah I have a few thicker liquids and am having nightmare wiking issues with my CE5 clearmizers (those are top coil). DOing the tip isn't near enough. It is more like hold it upside down for a good couple of minutes:p

Like a noob I bought liquids in all kinds of ratios and even one 100% VG bottle. Some of these are being a nightmare unless I put them in a bottom coil.

Used to have 80VG/20PG - lots of vapor, but I started to miss that 'throat hit' you get when smoking analogs. The big amount of VG also took away from the flavor of the juice, so that bothered me.

Changed it to 40VG/60PG - got that throat hit and great flavor, but was a bit too harsh and it was annoying not seeing much vapor production.

Now? 50VG/50PG - for me, perfect mix of throat hit and vapor production. No matter what juice I order now, I always request 50/50 and have been very happy thus far.

Hey Roonies! I vape generally at 70/30 too. I really don't know why aside from the fact that I purchased some 50/50 once & the flavor wasn't quite the same. It was also premixed at my closest B&M so I didn't have the option to get extra flavor shots. I have seen several posts about people having allergies to both pg & vg. I guess I've stuck with 70/30 because it was recommended to me when I got started & I haven't really had a reason to change it. I have made a couple of purchases from vendors who determine their own mix...something about it being the best mix for the flavors if I remember correctly. But if it came down to it I guess I'd vape any mix as long as the flavor is great!

I tend to not like a lot of throat hit, preferring a smoother vape. Therefore I use a 50/50 ratio, occassionally higher Vg mix.

I have ordered the same flavor from the same vendor in both a 50/50 ratio and 100% Vg just to see if I could tell the difference -- I couldn't. Your results may vary.

Also, if a vendor recommends a particular ratio for their juices, I go with that (it's usually 50/50). They know which is best for their flavors, and likely get feedback from their customers, too. I've noticed most custom juice vendors have a running poll asking customers what their favorite PG/VG ratio is.

I use mainly genesis and dripper atomizers and find that about 75% VG is perfect for my preferences. Smooth...

My preferences of course being price ;) I get my VG at a local store dirt cheap, but I have to internet order/ship in PG for all the juice I make.

For clearos and cartos I tend to run 50/50 however.

If I want thick clouds of vapor I go with vg although I feel personally that it does sacrifice flavor and th. For flavor I like to lean towards the 50/50 blend and I've notice in my vaping experience that most vendors have more success with this kind of mixture (I could be wrong). Don't like pg heavy e juices due to the fact that vapor production is almost non existent.

This is a point I was going to make but you beat me to it! :)

My wife and I share a couple of bottles of flavors we both like. She prefers higher nicotine and more PG (for the throat hit). I like less nicotine and around a 50/50 blend... I like vapor, both on the inhale which helps make up for some of that throat hit and on the exhale too! So I bought a 236ml bottle of USP Kosher grade 100% pure VG and a few extra juice bottles. Most good juice vendors will stock pure VG (and PG) and most pharmacies will stock or can order both as well. I take my share and thin it down a bit with VG and my wife gets the rest. We are both happy!

I use 50/50 in everything from drippers to top coil clearomizers. It's not the VG that clogs up clearos, it's a bad wick design and darker juice that plugs them up quicker than anything, IMHO.

Super low resistance vaping, mostly in drippers, I cut it back in half again with VG, so somewhere around 25% PG and 75% VG?

70/30 or 80/20 . throat hit and flavor is good for me there.

I will say extra flavor drops some times leaves the flavor on my tongue too long and its like I drank a whole bottle of the stuff. So no extra flavor for me.

Good point! It's often said on this forum (and elsewhere) that PG carries the flavor better and VG mutes flavor but supplies more vapor. I find this to be mostly true as well. When I'm intending to cut a juice down with a bunch of extra VG I'll usually opt to get extra "flavor shots", etc. to make it up... not just the dilution, but the higher VG concentration as well.
