Breaking a VAMO from a drop? what did you drop it in? Molten lava? lol
Seriously, they're really strong. I've dropped mine a number of times & still works perfectly.
Strong PV, great price, more features than a Provari....what's the problem? Especially for a beginner?
And yes I'll always have a place in my heart for my eGo-C's & Twists, but better than a VAMO?

Not bad.. Ego is always a good backup should anything happen to your other pv. For portability, I don't think you would want to have vamo in your pocket (even in 350 mode) so your ego will be useful at times

hmm let's put this simple, if u want quality and don't mind spending more, provari is definitely the answer, but like others say vamo works as well so yea

For me if I were to say a mech mod would be preferred as alot of us ww get a provari at the first place no doubt its 1 of the good vv pv. But when you start to play with rebuiltable provari will be a pain in the ... for beginners.
Maybe you should meet up some of the vapers more if you know any try out every different pvs and do your homework you will get to see what you want.
Paps and speoriod would be recommended to begainners as recoiling on speriod is dame easy.
