I'm a novice vaper, and I've been using basically the cheapest setup I could find. I've went up from an ego to an x6 with a protank, but I'm tired of my .... always breaking. I'm looking to make a huge upgrade, I want to spend about 100 dollars and I want to blow clouds. I've been looking at setups such as the aspire Atlantis sub ohm kit. I like rich, puffy clouds of favor with sweet or fruity flavors. I'm not familiar hardly at all with building my own coils. I prefer atomizer, but am open to suggestions. I like tube models, I think boxes are ugly. What would you veterans recommend for me?

I owned a sigelei zmax v5 (tube/elescopic) for a year and loved it, it worked well and took a lot of abuse. Biggest downside is the screen has a tendency to shift if you overtighten the batteries (I believe I read that this problem had been fixed in later productions but you should ask your retailer about that). ALSO it won't let you go below 1.2 ohms.

Mvp [[/I]20 watt is out. Clouper t8 is not a bad price seems well built with exchangeable batteries. Atlantis is a good tank but I prefere a kangerger sub tank. So for 100 for a new device and tank the Atlantis and a mech mod may be best want to spend a lil more imo get a 50w or above box mod and the sub tank if u search can get for the 140 to 150 range.

I'm on an SVD 2.0 with a Nautilus mini and am quite content. It blows better clouds than my Nemesis with Atlantis. I'm going to buy a Sigelei 100 plus on the first to try and push the Atlantis and my RDA's harder, but as it stands my SVD is my go to device. With some good searching you might find the pair for under $100. Cheers!

For real clouds, you're going to want around 26-30 watts, or a mech mod -- an IPV is a solid choice. Before buying the atlantis, I'd encourage you to google on the safety issues with the BVC coils.

Good point on the safety for portability Atlantis is more portable until you realize u gotta refill the bugger so much the sub ohm is a 6 ml tank with stock tank and with the rda put in is 4 ml so kinda equals itself out

I'm fine with the BVC coils. Aspire has already debunked the safety concerns which was ignited by one guy name Vapor Joe. Vapor Joe claimed the Aspire coils were bad bc of xyz, and then tried to market the Subtank instead .

The bottom line is Aspire has already provided details with how their coils work, have a diagram of the coil and tests for safety are done before being sold.

Until tests are performed by a third party I'd be carful about a company testing its own products

The Atlantis is made a certain way, uses certain materials for its coils and it works imo. If they change the coil material , you might have to change the coil every 3 days, flavor might be worse etc.

We don't know if using cotton will cause no issues. If inhaling VG is safe etc. Using ecigs is safer than smoking and that's what i'm confident in. Imo i think the eliquid will hold down particles in the coil. Even worse if some particles get into the lungs our bodies are able to clear it, like it does with pollution, everyday particles in the air.

I'm much worried about inhaling diacetyl vs material used to produce vapor.

I started just like you SpencerJames, I moved on to a box mod, but a friend of mine is using a ZNA 50 that he really enjoys! From my (limited) experience nothing beats a good RDA. I have a StillAir RDA clone and my favorite so far is the PlumeVeil RDA clone. Building coils takes some learning and patience but once you get the basics down, it becomes a game changer. I'd recommend RipTrippers on youtube for some easy coil tutorials.

I'm not trying to start anything but using RDA's on the go is a pain on the azz. If your dead tired after work its difficult to rebuild. RDA is the best for flavor and vapor production but it's not good in other ways

No worries mate, I wouldn't use them without rewicking, personally -- agree to disagree. :) . I'll just leave this here for the OP or those interested -- lots of info to decide for oneself:
