Hello Ive been vaping for about a year on 24mg of nic I recently bought a provari and found i couldnt vape at 8 watts anymore 1.7 coil at 3.7 volts without any chest tightning ,So after reading and posting on these great forums I have decided to lower my nic level
I am just wondering should I go to 18mg or 12 mg of nic I want to vape at a higher wattage/voltage as I like the vapor and throat hit so i was thinking about 12 mg I just dont want to crave nicotine ,so I am here asking for some advice thank you in advance

Best bet would be to buy a 18mg and a 12mg juice and try them out and see if you get cravings or not.

This. :thumb: Everyone is different. What works for one person may be too much or too little for you. The only way to find out is to try one of each of the same flavor of juice in both 12mg & 18mg.

If using a rebuildable atomizer, you'll need to step down a level of nic compared to a clearomizer or cartomizer due to the higher amount of vapor produced.

I dropped quickly from 18 to 12mg after switching to vaping. Then I sort of idled there for about a year. I found it was mostly due to buying a ton of different juices across many Venders, looking for an ADV of me.
Once I started DIY I dropped much quicker to 9, then 6 and now 3mg.

A few things
1) The topper makes a big difference in your TH, Vapor and Flavor
2) Even the Provari is a simple (all be it excellently designed) power source. If you have to run it at a lower setting, your other Mod was out of calibration or running a MEAN avg. voltage(i.e. spiking high volts and no volts)
If this is the case, your Vape should have equal vapor/flavor at lower settings.

I recommend moving down in steps. Half steps, actually. If you've been at 24, buy some same-flavored juice at 18. Then make an "in-between" batch by mixing 50% of each. That'll give you some juice at 21mg. Use that for a bit, and when it runs out, switch to 18. That way, you're only dropping 3mg at a time, and it isn't hard.

I used that system and worked my way down to 0mg. I may go back to a low nic level at some point, but stepping down a bit at a time worked for me without ever giving me the "OMG, I need nic NOW!" feeling.

^^^ good advice

I would pick up a 50 ml bottle of my favorite juice at 18 and then, after vaping through it, drop to 12. You'll probably vape more for a while but so what?

I've made the progression from 24 to 12, but incrementally over 2 years. Hell, I still have some bottles of 18 around that I vape.

If it was me I would buy both. You can then just switch a tank (or whatever device as needed). I did something similar and made it down to 3 mg for about 3 months. I am now back up to 12 mg.

For me the difference between the nic hit through a PT2 type and an IGO dripper is negligible as far as nic intake is concerned. Although at this point my drippers are enjoying being used a lot. It may have more to do with sub ohming with a dripper than at standard ohms, which is what I vape at. I have my 3mg DIY in PT2s and my 12mg premixed going through various drippers.
