The easiest thing to do, particularly if you move to DIY, is to start with UNFLAVORED juice, maybe even 100% VG and VG nic base with DW added, and go from there. Try a flavoring at a time, then you can mix them later.

Note: Not all VG is created equal, and can be a concern too. It is made from various sources, palm, veg, and sometimes coconut. So consider your sourcing. I've had some that cause hives, and most that didn't. But that was years ago, and the industry may have moved to other sources of VG.

Also RY4's often contain nut flavors. That's not peanut proteins, but it may be a factor for you depending on the nature of your allergic reaction.

And keep an epi-pen if you have known allergies if you can.

Alcohols are used as solvents for certain compounds in liquids, as some compounds are insoluble in either VG and or PG.

And clones aren't necessarily that bad, just depends on whether they are sold as so and priced according. Recently picked up some KF Prime clones at approx $20 each, originals are priced at $130. And they work just as well as the originals, just need a damned good cleaning. Isopropyl bath and ultrasonic cleaning should do the job, I hope.

And as for PG, it is listed as an irritant. But it's amazing just how many things it's in.

And this is why I mentioned a vape diary or journal, as you can log your vaping and hopefully narrow things down. For example, I personally cannot vape any melon flavoured liquid without getting a throat infection or reaction. So as long as I stay away from melon flavoured liquids I'm relatively fine.

I am just going to say I am PG sensitive and not allergic exactly. Some flavors aren't so good for me, they make me hoarse, so I avoid them.

The best advice I can give without a doctor being on your team is to start with 100% VG (no nic even) then start adding ingredients in one by one.

I DIY and I use PEG400 instead of PG. For me, it works well. I researched it before using it and found nothing alarming but I might suggest doing that IF PG turns out to be A culprit (there is often more than one.)

Best of luck to you. I'd ask the guy at the vape shop if he can sell you some VG plus nic if you must have nic, I guess, and no tobacco flavor at all.

Without a known process for allergy testing of vape products (and I do not know of one although one may exist) you really have to treat it like a food allergy and go for the vape allergy elimination diet.

charlie1465, TFA flavours use a PG base. Do you or anyone else know of a manufacturer that makes flavours with a VG base?

I've been looking myself and not having any luck so far, seems like DIY would be the only option at present. As menthol crystals are insoluble in VG, but are soluble in Alcohol. Resulting solution can then be added to VG.

As I myself want to DIY, as I believe that PG is making my Eczema worse.

So I need a vaporizer that can handle max vg, I guess. I'm incredibly broke,

RDA's and settings dictate the what mod/battery you will choose and costs. My Settings: zero nic, single coil (~6-8w/32ga KA1;4-5 turns;.110 ID;Rayon and max VG).

PG as a problem is one of those old things that's always suggested first regarding many problems, but for allergy it is the first suspect. VG could even be the problem, though. If you smoked, nic shouldn't be a problem, if it is though try nic salts, more natural, otherwise the regular has more throat hit.

The best thing for throat hit is nicotine, followed by PG and some flavors. So it shouldn't be difficult to do something with VG (and DW) and nic only that's tolerable for a day or 2 to try. You may be able to tolerate the common PG-based flavors or have to use the limited VG based ones, I think a small amount (<1%) of some flavorings have a big effect but most recipes and many avail. ejuices have a lot of flavoring (~20%, which could add about 17% PG). After trying unflavored, try highly diluting some max VG flavored juice you like with the unflavored. The nicotine level and flavor will average between the two, but after some aging, the flavor should increase.

Edit: also formaldehyde and other nasties can be produced if heat is excessive, so even "only" VG could cause issues. A Nautilus requires low power and some monitoring of the heat-up cycle. Its advantage is more that feedback is quick and clear, vs. something with more capacity can more easily deliver a clean hit.

DeloresRose, what other MTL tank or tanks could you recommend? As AlexCat uses a Nautilus.
To answer your question, Zenith (drop in coils) and Dvarw rebuildable ($15 for the whole kit at FT).
Some places still sell VG/PG mixes of your choice but I'm not sure if they have a nic. option too. Unflavored PG/VG Nic 240 ml E Juice | Mt Baker Vapor
Welcome to the ECF @AlexCat. Koolada is another additive that will give you a slightly menthol-ish throat hit.
