Hi, this is my first thread on ECF and I wanted to ask some questions. I'm fairly new to vaping (2-3 months) and I've been using my Smokeless Image Volt with prefilled cartos. I never bothered getting into the juices but I've been wanting to try it out recently. I have a manual Volt on it's way to my house right now. I've always used automatic batteries, so I'm fairly excited for the "upgrade" :D

Anyway, it seems that with the vaping community, everyone is using juices. I've looked around for a company who sells a large variety of flavors, has a good rep, and most importantly, takes extra steps to ensure quality and safety of their juieces (for example, not using diacetyl and/or other diketones). I've been very interested in what DarthVapers has to offer.

Now to my question. I've been all over the place about what would be the best option for juices with my Smokeless Image Volt, whether it be cartos, clearomizers, or tanks. There are SO many options out there and I'm baffled on where to start. I don't know any experienced vapers in real life, so I figured the online community would be able to give some good input on this. :)

What would you recommend for a good quality piece to fill with juice? Also, how long does a clearomizer or tank last? I don't mean how long does the liquid inside last, I mean how long does the actual tank/clearomizer last before it's trash. Would I need to be swapping in new ones every week? I'm not sure how exactly that works. Any other input is GREATLY APPRECIATED :) I'd love to start using juices, I'm just very unsure of what I should be using and what would work best with my Volt batteries. There seems to be an endless amount of companies making cartos/clearomizers/tanks and they all have a ton of options for each of them. I don't know where to start with this. Please help. Thanks! :)

I think the volt cartos work best on the volt batteries. Their cartos are awesome. They are horizontal coil and my fav of the 808 cartos, work great with other 808 batteries too. Just get the blank ones then you can fill your own juice in them!! I haven't tried the X2 but maybe that is something for you to try next...

Yeah, if you like your Volt batteries and want to try something other than the standard cartos (which you can refill with any juice you like as well) check out some of their other options on their site. That way you know they'll work with your batteries, you get to keep working with a company you're familiar with, and you can use up some Volt points.

Their CE3 cartomizers rock; tons and tons of vapor. They also have their X2 clearomizers, but those are in limited supply currently and may in fact be out of stock. They are getting a brand new clearomizer that's basically a bottom-coil version the Kanger T2 you may have seen people talking about. They are also getting a new CE3 style cartomizer that won't require the use of a syringe for filling, though I don't find filling them with a syringe is difficult or time consuming at all anyway. If you're interested in checking out those "coming soon" products, head on over to the Smokeless Image vendor forum and check out the posts Imagine made about them. The T2 style one is going to be called the X2-T3 and they haven't yet named their new CE3 so that thread has a bunch of @#!) in the title as a placeholder.

Thanks for the replies Loveridden and LucidAce! I was looking at the CE3 cartomizers and the X2 clearomizers because I like how you can see inside of them. They look more high tech lol. :) But I'm unsure of the life of them. The X2 clearomizer is 7 dollars I believe, and it only comes with one. Do people replace them every few weeks or are they good forever? Same question with the CE3 cartos. If anyone has other suggestions/input that would be appreciated as well :)

Regarding juice, I like Vixen Vapors: http://www.............com/
They let you adjust the flavor strength and add menthol to anything, in addition to the somewhat standard of PG/VG ratio and nic strength...

Looks like a pretty good site. The options for PG/VG, flavor, nic, and menthol are awesome! I'd like to see more companies incorporate those options into their products. But like I said I've been looking cautiously for companies who make it clear that they make their juices as safe as possible. Looking on the homepage of DarthVapers and reading the "Dear Customers" letter is what hooked me to them. I'll be ordering from them soon. We came to e-cigs for a reason, to get away from all the harmful stuff. I like to see companies who advertise that they are making their juices safe and high quality.

I have been using vaporkings empty 808 cartos on my volt batteries for a year and I have never had an issue. They are one of the cheapest priced for 808's. Healthcabin sells a pack of empty 808's in 4 colors for $4.50 a 5-pack but I think you have to pay with paypal? I don't have a paypal so I haven't bothered but a friend has givin me many blank 510 cartos from healthcabin and they were wonderful.

The X2 clearos are advertised to last about 2 weeks of regular usage, but I've never tried them myself so I can't really say.

The CE3s have a pretty good life, especially since they come to $2 a piece. I've read multiple accounts of people using them for 10+ refills each before there was any noticeable drop off in performance. I've had them for about 2 weeks and have been using only 2 of them for the past week, pushing somewhere around 2ml of juice through each of them every day, and they're just as good as when I first filled them. But, considering the performance of them, I would be pleased as punch if they last 5-10 refills at this price, so the fact that they last longer than that is the proverbial icing on the cake.

The new SI exclusive version of the CE3 is apparently going up on the site today. They will apparently be sold as singles rather than in 5 packs like the regular CE3s and price hasn't been announced to my knowledge.

I started with Smokeless Image Volt batteries. I've since moved on to bigger battery mods, but I still use their clearomizers and ce3's.

In my opinion, if you are using the smaller sized Volt batteries, either the cartomizers or ce3's would look best. The clearos would work, but being that they were designed for the larger X2 batteries, they would look top-heavy on the smaller batteries.

My initial advice would be to get a pack of each of the ce3's, and also the carto's if you haven't already used them. Which one you will favor depends upon your personal preferences. Once you use a cartomizer, you're kinda stuck sticking with one flavor in it unless you want to mix flavors. They are not easy to clean. On the other hand, the ce3's are much easier to change flavors because there is no polyfill to retain previous flavors.

I still use both the ce3's and clearomizers with my mods. The ce3's are perfect for me testing flavors from new juice vendors. If I don't like the flavor, I empty it and rinse with water and refill with the next juice. Much more reusable in that respect than the cartos.

Thanks for the reply! $4.50 for a 5-pack of blanks is great! But from what I understand, filling a clearomizer or tank would give more flavor/vapor than if you were to fill a cartomizer, correct? Or no? And Paypal is fairly easy to set up. It's free and requires a simple email verification. Use your proper name and information when making an account. There is an option somewhere to "add a card." I put in my debit card info and that's all it takes, you're ready to start buying with Paypal :) Any questions let me know.

Thanks for reply! I was looking at the CE3's that Smokeless Image sells. They seem real good. I'm trying to figure out if there is a bandwagon item that everyone jumps on, if you know what I mean. For example how a good percentage of vapers will jump on egos and kgos. I wasn't sure if the same mentality goes with the different makes and models of cartos/clearos/tanks. Is it like that in the vaping community, where a good majority of people use the same kind of clearomizer or tank?

Thanks for the recommendation :) I'll check them out!

And let us not forget Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids and her Purity line. There's nothing in those juices but rainbow dust and ground unicorn horn. ;)

Lol rainbow dust and unicorn horns. I've heard great things about those being used in juices :vapor: :p Thanks for the suggestions as well!

Thanks for the reply :) Seems everyone has mentioned the CE3's from SI. Is that because I use a Volt (which is FROM SI) or is it because the SI CE3's are great in general? And I see what you mean about changing flavors. I've watched some videos and read a bit. It seems like a carto is dedicated to one flavor once you use it. I see several advantages of the CE3 over the carto, but are there any advantages of the blank cartos over the CE3's?

Well, just like with juice flavors, everyone is different. Some people prefer cartomizers, some people prefer clearomizers, some people prefer the ce3's, and some people only like to drip directly onto an atty. You need to try one of each to see which YOU like best.

*Smokeless Image just got in their new "exclusive" ce3's, so the old ones are no longer available. I see that instead of the 5 pack for $10, these new ones are $10 a piece. I need to read some reviews about these to see if they are worth that. For that price, I might rather get a Smoktech Titan clearo tank. (Don't think about it, it holds over 4ml of juice and would likely look hideous on a little Volt)

* EDIT: Please disregard the last paragraph. I mistakenly reported information that is incorrect. My appologies. - Baditude
